Purpose The concept of banking reputation has gained significant attention due to its relevance in the banking industry. A strong reputation has become crucial for a bank’s success, as it affects trust, credibility and stakeholders' perceptions. However, understanding and managing reputation in the banking sector involves several challenges. This study aims to analyze the field of banking reputation research through bibliometric analysis. Design/methodology/approach It explores the evolution of research in this area, identifies key journals, articles and authors, examines the main research streams, and identifies research fronts and opportunities for future advancement. Findings The findings reveal that banking reputation research has evolved over time, with multiple perspectives and viewpoints. Key journals and authors in the field are identified, and leading research streams are highlighted. The study also uncovers the conceptual and intellectual structure of the research domain, providing insights into the complex and multidimensional nature of banking reputation. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of corporate social responsibility, sustainability practices and gender diversity in shaping a bank’s reputation. These factors play a significant role in attracting and retaining customers, accessing financial markets and securing funding. Research limitations/implications The results contribute to the existing body of knowledge and provide researchers and practitioners with valuable insights for further exploration. Originality/value The paper concludes by outlining potential avenues for future research in the field of banking reputation.

In addition to formal welfare institutions, there are many informal initiatives in the social landscape that are engaged in social work. These informal actors offer help, care or support to their members and visitors, and/or fulfil a bridging function to formal welfare organisations. They fulfil this role in particularly for target groups that experience distance or barriers to the formal care and welfare system. Despite the important role they play, these actors are often still unknown territory for both formal care and welfare actors and policymakers. Based on research from Belgium and the Netherlands, this article sheds light on this hidden voluntary social work and its characteristics. We also examine hidden voluntary social work in relation to formal welfare organisations and the (local) government. Despite the potential added value of cooperation, it is not easy to build up a sustainable and equal cooperative relationship, or for the government to effectively support hidden voluntary social work. Safeguarding the uniqueness of informal players is a particular concern.
The MSP (Marine Spatial Planning) Challenge Simulation Platform uses game technology and role-play to support communication and learning for Marine and Maritime Spatial Planning. Since 2011, a role-playing game, a board game and a digital interactive simulation platform have been developed. The MSP Challenge Simulation Platform editions have been used in workshops, conferences, education, as well as for real life stakeholder engagement. The researchers give an overview of the development of the MSP Challenge Simulation Platform and reflect on the value of the approach as an engaging and ‘fun’ tool for building mutual understanding and communicating MSP.
