Epidemiological oral health data are essential for informing public health policy and evaluating care. In the Netherlands, OrangeForce and the Oral Health Monitor seek to resume data collection by extracting information from dental practices using both automated (ie, software-based extraction) and manual (ie, user-entered in web-based forms) methods. As the success of these methods depends on cooperation from providers, this study aimed to explore the perspectives of Dutch dentists on collecting oral health data from practices, focussing on automated and manual data collection.

In line, online, off the grid contributes to the discussions on evaluation of doctoral projects in the arts. The title of the book refers to the challenging variety of artistic research projects. Some projects are easily in line with the degree requirements, whereas others might include elements that complicate the evaluation process both conceptually and practically: unstable online spaces, ephemeral processes, or events realised in remote locations, completely off the grid. The book embraces this challenging but also desirable variety through four cases and a selection of invited reflections. The mix of Finnish and English in this book reminds the reader of the co-existence of several modes of articulation that all parties involved need to deal with.

The illegal production of synthetic drugs in clandestine laboratories is an emerging threat within the European Union, necessitating improved methods for law enforcement agencies to locate these illegal sites. Combining gas chromatography and ion mobility spectrometry is a promising technology for reliably detecting trace amounts of substances in the gas phase. Therefore, the feasibility of detecting precursors involved in methamphetamine synthesis was investigated in this work. It is shown that relevant precursors of the three main synthesis pathways of the most prominent precursor, benzyl methyl ketone, naming the Dakin-West method, the nitrostyrene method and the Baeyer-Villinger pathway can be detected at concentrations down to single-digit ppbv levels. Reliable detection of these substances is based on retention time and reduced ion mobility, minimizing cross-sensitivities. Finally, using a real seized sample of benzyl methyl ketone, it was demonstrated that by-products from the synthesis can be detected in the headspace of such a sample, potentially allowing for drug profiling by sampling the gas phase near suspicious premises

This study systematically evaluates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting practices of European airline groups, covering both mandatory and voluntary key performance indicators (KPIs) under evolving regulatory frameworks. By analysing annual and sustainability reports from 16 major airline groups, the research identifies significant progress in the reporting of core metrics, with Scope 1 CO2 totals reported by 94 % and emissions intensity by 88 %, reflecting growing regulatory alignment and stakeholder expectations. However, persistent gaps remain: Scope 2 and Scope 3 reporting appears in only 56 % and 50 % of cases, respectively, while non-CO2 emissions are disclosed by just 38 %, despite forthcoming European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) monitoring requirements. Reporting on sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) life-cycle emissions is limited (19 %), and CO2 offsetting disclosures are rare (6 %), complicating verification of decarbonisation claims and readiness for ReFuelEU Aviation and Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). The proliferation of voluntary KPI disclosures further complicates comparability due to a lack of standardization and clear definitions. These challenges are compounded by risks of greenwashing, where airlines selectively report favourable data such as emissions intensity, and greenhushing, where substantive achievements are under-communicated. The study concludes that while regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU ETS, CORSIA, and ReFuelEU are driving improvements, further harmonization and methodological clarity are required to ensure transparency, comparability, and genuine progress toward aviation's climate goals.

The domain of Location-based Augmented Reality (LBAR) in education is growing rapidly with the increasing ubiquity of mobile devices and their advanced capabilities. LBAR enables the superimposition of digital content onto physical environments and has been recognized for its transformative potential in educational contexts. Despite its advantages, the adoption of LBAR in education remains limited, hindered by several challenges. This paper presents a systematic review of peer-reviewed literature from 2000 to 2023 to assess the current state of LBAR in education. It explores 1) the state of the art in LBAR research, 2) its use cases and reported impacts across educational levels, and 3) the challenges and limitations identified in existing studies. Among the 50 studies included in the review, 38 % of investigated studies indicate a positive acceptance of LBAR and evident enthusiasm regarding LBAR's application for learning purposes. However, multidimensional complexities are revealed at the methodological, technological, pedagogical, and at content and organisational levels. While LBAR tools present strong potential to enhance learning experiences, that potential is not yet fully realized. Their long-term value depends on how well they are integrated into established pedagogical practices, learning content, and educational contexts.

Business model innovation is essential to drive the systemic change required for a new economy. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide focus and direction towards this transition. For companies in the agriculture and horticulture sectors, SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, is particularly relevant. Designing, renewing, and innovating business models requires courageous and creative leadership. A new business model involves more than just analyzing problems and making well-considered decisions. It’s about creating something new, discovering innovative solutions, and testing them in practice. Design thinking is a method well-suited to addressing complex challenges that do not yet have clear solutions, such as the societal issues that characterize this era of transition. In this publication, the method is applied to real-world challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the agricultural and horticultural value chain. The iterative nature of design thinking leads to unexpected and innovative outcomes. This creative approach makes a valuable contribution to the realization of SDG 12.

Digital forensic scientists primarily rely on individual internal reasoning and categorical conclusions when evaluating evidence in casework. This can make it difficult to maintain structured reasoning that is logically sound, balanced, robust, and transparent. Trojan horse defense cases exemplify these challenges in evaluating digital forensic findings. The key challenge in such cases is combining multiple observations into a logically sound probabilistic evaluation while maintaining an understandable forensic report for court and other recipients. To address these challenges, we propose using the likelihood ratio framework to evaluate digital findings in Trojan horse defense cases, with Bayesian networks serving to visualize the evaluation and derive a likelihood ratio. We will illustrate this approach by demonstrating the construction of a Bayesian network through a case example. We show that these networks are very suitable to model the evaluation of digital evidence in Trojan horse defense cases and that they can be easily adapted for various case circumstances. Based on our findings, we strongly recommend broader exploration of Bayesian networks in digital forensic casework.
