To successfully develop a system, a solid understanding of its architecture by stakeholders involved in the development of the system is key. This process is supported by System Architects, who have a profession that is often regarded as experience based. However, we argue that it is important to familiarize students with the concept of System Architecting, so that they are at least receptive of the nuances involved and potentially can continue a pathway of development towards such a role. In this paper we explore the potential use of A3 Architecture Overviews (A3AO) as an educational tool to support familiarization with Systems Engineering and Systems Architecting. The A3AO has been developed as a supportive tool to communicate a system’s architecture. It uses diagrams to model and visualize a system with different views and is intended to be printed on a physical A3 paper. It serves as a reference for, and facilitator of design discussions. Skills envisioned to be developed while using an A3AO include strict selection and visualization of information, two critical competencies to handle systems’ complexity. The A3AOs have been applied in a course on Systems Engineering at an applied University in The Netherlands and were part of the assessed deliverables. The relative free-form nature of the A3AO posed students with various dilemmas in their use, but also provided the opportunity for guided development on the envisioned competencies. We conclude that more research is required to further formalize this guided development, but we also experience that the A3AO has the potential to support systems engineering and systems architecting practices in education.

In het kortlopende NRO-project Zicht op Studentontwikkeling (ZopS) werkten onderzoekers Liesbeth Baartman (HU-lector Toetsing en Beoordeling in Beroepsonderwijs) en Judith Gulikers (WUR) samen met 4 mbo-teams (van Albeda, MBO Utrecht, ROC Midden Nederland en ROC van Amsterdam) aan het vraagstuk van het krijgen van zicht op studentontwikkeling. Deze mbo-teams ontwikkelden zogenaamde ‘learning progressions’ om de langetermijnontwikkeling en de hobbels daarin zichtbaar te krijgen (bijv. op een werkproces). Daarna ontwikkelden zijn ‘FE-activiteiten’ (FE=Formatief Evalueren), aan de hand van de FE-cyclus, om de ontwikkeling van hun studenten in de klas in kaart te brengen. Één van de resultaten van het project is een spel waarmee mbo-teams een leerpad met bijbehorende formatieve activiteiten kunnen maken. The present document describes a nutritional approach that is nested in the European Innovation Partnership for Active and Healthy Aging (EIP-AHA) and aims to provide the first common European program translating an integrated approach to nutritional frailty in terms of a multidimensional and transnational methodology. The document has been developed by the A3 Nutrition Action Area of the EIP-AHA and aims at providing a stepwise approach to malnutrition in older citizens, identifying adequate interventions based on a unified assessment and ICT-supported solutions. “NutriLive” is an integrated nutritional approach, represented by a structured Screening-Assessment-Monitoring-Action-Pyramid-Model (SAM-AP). Its core concept is the stratification of the nutritional needs, considered by the working group as the key for targeted, effective, and sustainable interventions. “NutriLive” tries to close gaps in epidemiological data within an aging population, creating a unified language to deal with the topic of nutrition and malnutrition in Europe. By assembling all the validated screening, assessment, and monitoring tools on malnutrition in a first pyramid, which is interrelated to a second intervention pyramid, the A3 Nutrition WG identifies a common, integrated vision on the nutritional approach to frailty, which applies to the various health care settings.

The aim of this report is to give an overview of current state of the art in the occurrence and policies regarding affordable age-friendly and eco-friendly solutions in the partner countries. The report consists of the findings from the literature review, the comparative analysis and the reporting of good practices. It aims for the consortium as a whole to gain an understanding of the state of the art and on affordable age and eco-friendly solutions in partner countries and particularly the home and community fields, and to present that knowledge in the form of a written report. The literature review, the analysis of barriers and facilitators, and the survey on existing or even planning good practices in the project countries, will help the partners to build and update a strong knowledge base in these fields. To be closer to the practical issues that define the adaptability of eco and age-friendly solutions in community, the consortium decided to use mostly grey literature and websites for tools and advice, such as governmental pages. Common grey literature publication types include reports (annual, research, technical, project, etc.), working papers, government documents, white papers and evaluations, which will help all partners to reach conclusions around the common field between age and eco-friendly developments. Barriers and facilitators found in each project country will be used for stipulating the right consequence of actions needed, to propose a sound methodology that could – in combination with other actions and stakeholders – promote the implementation of age and eco-friendly principles into the public and private sphere of care for older people. Finally, the selection of good representative practices by each project country can be the basis for a report, and a publication, that depicts the level of maturity and progress of the notions of age-friendliness and eco-friendliness, as well as their impact on the care of older people.

Het Project TBTOP is een samenwerkingsproject tussen onderwijsinstellingen voor VMBO, MBO en HBO om het techniek onderwijs samen met bedrijven in de regio aantrekkelijker te maken voor studenten, docenten en bedrijfsleven. Dit wil men realiseren door meer praktijknabij onderwijs te ontwikkelen. Ook wil men de vak-disciplinaire visie op het beroep verbreden en studenten kennis laten maken met doorstroommogelijkheden in studie en beroep. Een groep projectleiders uit de verschillende onderwijsinstellingen draagt zorg voor de voortgang van de vernieuwingsprocessen en verankering in het onderwijs. De betrokkenen hebben samenwerking in een nieuwe context ervaren namelijk samenwerking met de beroepspraktijk, samenwerking met andere vakdisciplines en samenwerking met andere onderwijsinstellingen (en dus onderwijsniveaus). Het samenwerken aan praktijkopdrachten in multidisciplinaire TOPteams is een nieuw proces geweest voor docenten en bedrijfsmedewerkers. Dit proces heeft, los van de concrete producten en processen, een cultuurverandering in het onderwijs in gang gezet. Groepen docenten zijn getriggerd om over de grenzen van hun vakgebied te kijken en naar het onderwijs te kijken, vanuit de bril van de praktijk. Hiermee hebben de betrokkenen zich geprofessionaliseerd. In de film die gemaakt is naar aanleiding van dit project, vertellen betrokkenen hun ervaringen binnen de nieuwe samenwerkingsvormen. De film is interactief en op verschillende momenten in te stappen.

Deze Data-infographic hoort bij het project de Haagse aanpak Gelijke stagekansen. Het betreft een weergave van de resultaten uit de 0-meting onder studenten, over ervaringen met mogelijke stagediscriminatie in schooljaar 2021-2022. Het beoogde doel van dit onderzoek is het creëren van gelijke stagekansen voor alle Haagse studenten, versnelling en verbinding door een gezamenlijke aanpak en het verstevigen en verduurzamen van het netwerk rondom gelijke onderwijs- en arbeidsmarktkansen in Den Haag.
