Piet holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science (University of Technology Eindhoven) and a Masters Degree in Corporate Law (Erasmus University in Rotterdam).
As part-time lecturer he is involved in the following courses: Management & Organisation, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare Logistics and Operations Management. Annually, he coaches and supervises between 10-15 graduates during their final traineeships.
After over 30 years in various Management Boards within Logistics, Healthcare and Facility Services (amongst others Franklin Mint, Nedac Sorbo, Falck and Autobar) both in The Netherlands and abroad, he formed his own company. Through his own company he also participates in various health care logistics projects, amongst others a project to reduce access and waiting time within the hospital sector, to stimulate the transfer of care from the hospital to the domestic environment and finally a new concept to re-issue unused medication.
He is a member of the Board of Commissioners at the Swinhove Group and Thuiszorg west-Brabant; as a Board Member he is responsible for assuring that governing principles are properly followed by the Board of Directors. Within the Amphia Hospital in Breda he serves as Chairman of the Patient Council since 2014; the Patient Council has a statutory basis and serves the interests of (future) patients, family members and visitors.
