Dr. Sven J.G. Geelen is an implementation specialist and implementation researcher at the Academic General Practice Living Lab Northeast Netherlands (AWH-NO), part of the Department of General Practice and Long-Term Care at UMCG. He is also affiliated with the Healthy Ageing, Allied Health Care and Nursing research group at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the Specialized Burn Center of the Martini Hospital in Groningen. His work operates at the intersection of implementation practice and science, with a specific focus on developing, guiding, and studying complex implementation and change processes in healthcare.Geelen is driven by a deep curiosity about the mechanisms that make implementation successful, is particularly interested in the competencies required to effectively facilitate implementation processes.
