This issue of Volume is dedicated to mapping the contemporary field in architecture and beyond. Conditions of knowledge production are infrastructural. It's for this reason that we felt it appropriate to give a survey of research over the past two decades the name of a 'turn'. We expanded our gaze and looked to contemporary art and the social sciences in an attempt to learn from fellow discursive practices.
