Entirely in keeping with the inner logic of how the Shanghai Biennale has developed over the last decade, the perspective of the 7th edition also focuses on the city as such and the issue of today's urban conditions. Therefore, the Shanghai Biennale 2008 with its chosen title, the somewhat neo-logical concept of translocalmotion, intends to examine the conditions of human life in dynamic urban environments, including socio-economic conditions, the logics of mobility and its subsequent cultural implications.
