Dr. Margo van Hartingsveldt is an occupational therapist and MSc in Allied Healthcare. Her PhD involved the development of the Writing Readiness Inventory Tool in Context (WRITIC), an ecological assessment for kindergarten children.

She is professor in Occupational Therapy with a professorship in Participation and Environment at the Faculty of Health, Centre of Expertise Urban Vitality of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam and is affiliated with the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Her professorship focuses on issues that arise from the way people participate in daily life and society. She is involved in various research projects in the areas of Technology and Participation, Diversity, Equity and Participation and Child & Youth and Participation.

During her career, she has worked to advance the field of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Sciences by bridging the gap between research, education, and its practical application. She has contributed to the national development of Occupational Therapy in the Netherlands and is the first author of the Dutch Occupational Therapy profile and co-editor of the last three editions of the Dutch Occupational Therapy student textbook. Therefore, over the past five years she has contributed to the field with more than 30 international peer-reviewed publications and more than 30 conferences/seminars and has contributed to six books for occupational therapists.

She is vice-chair of the Research for Occupational Therapy and Occupational Sciences (ROTOS) Foundation.
