Twee jaar geleden zijn we gestart met de ontwikkeling van het Sprong consortium Greening Corridors. De focus van Greening Corridors richt zich enerzijds op het verduurzamen van achterlandverbindingen en anderzijds het ontwikkelen van een sterk consortium. Dit artikel laat zien hoe welke partijen in het consortium participeren. De inhoudelijke kant heeft geleid tot verschillende projecten die langs de thema’s: (1) betere benutting van capaciteit; (2) schone, veilige en autonome modaliteiten; (3) Digitalisering in de toeleveringsketen tot stand zijn gekomen. Voor wat betreft het consortium zijn diverse acties uitgevoerd voor verdere ontwikkeling van het consortium zelf. Daar is de focus op de gebieden:(1) profilering; (2) professionaliteit & personeelsplanning; (3) netwerk; (4) kwaliteit en (5) impact en doorwerking. Beide ontwikkelpaden leiden er toe dat Greening Corridors zich begint te ontwikkelen als een herkenbare entiteit en een belangrijke rol spelen in de verduurzaming van achterlandverbindingen.

A number of universities of applied sciences do a lot of research in the field of sustainable last mile logistics. Collaboration and coordination take place through joint projects or through seminars. However, this collaboration could be more structured so that researchers can always take full advantage of each other's knowledge and are not dependent on having or not having joint projects or seminars. This also concerns the question of how these studies can gain extra added value through joint programming (this can partly be done in the development of a tool/benchmark, see previous point), but also in having and getting research and knowledge from the different regions. Within the new research agenda of the Logistics Knowledge Agreement (the lectors platform of the CoE KennisDC Logistics), urban logistics has been named as one of the four core themes on which the involved universities of applied sciences want to collaborate across regions. In addition, there is only limited cooperation in the field of education around the theme of “urban logistics”. Students who want to graduate in urban logistics or do internships must therefore first learn a lot.
The SPRONG group, originating from the CoE KennisDC Logistiek, focuses on 'Low Impact in Lastmile Logistics' (LILS). The LILS group conducts practical research with local living labs and learning communities. There is potential for more collaboration and synergy for nationwide scaling of innovations, which is currently underutilized. LILS aims to make urban logistics more sustainable and facilitate necessary societal transitions. This involves expanding the monodisciplinary and regional scope of CoE KennisDC Logistiek to a multidisciplinary and supra-regional approach, incorporating expertise in spatial planning, mobility, data, circularity, AI, behavior, and energy. The research themes are:- Solutions in scarce space aiming for zero impact;- Influencing behavior of purchasers, recipients, and consumers;- Opportunities through digitalization.LILS seeks to increase its impact through research and education beyond its regions. Collaboration between BUas, HAN, HR, and HvA creates more critical mass. LILS activities are structured around four pillars:- Developing a joint research and innovation program in a roadmap;- Further integrating various knowledge domains on the research themes;- Deepening methodological approaches, enhancing collaboration between universities and partners in projects, and innovating education (LILS knowledge hub);- Establishing an organizational excellence program to improve research professionalism and quality.These pillars form the basis for initiating and executing challenging, externally funded multidisciplinary research projects. LILS is well-positioned in regions where innovations are implemented and has a strong national and international network and proven research experience.Societal issue:Last-mile logistics is crucial due to its visibility, small deliveries, high costs, and significant impact on emissions, traffic safety, and labor hours. Lastmile activities are predicted to grow a 20% growth in the next decade. Key drivers for change include climate agreements and energy transitions, urban planning focusing on livability, and evolving retail landscapes and consumer behavior. Solutions involve integrating logistics with spatial planning, influencing purchasing behavior, and leveraging digitalization for better data integration and communication. De SPRONG-groep is ontstaan uit het CoE KennisDC Logistiek en richt zich op ‘Low Impact in Lastmile LogisticS’ (LILS). De LILS-groep doet op projectbasis praktijkgericht onderzoek voor en met partijen in lokale living labs en learning communities. Er is ruimte voor meer samenwerking en synergie voor landelijke opschaling van innovaties in de praktijk. Deze kansen worden echter nog onvoldoende benut. LILS wil bijdragen aan het verduurzamen van logistiek in de stedelijke omgeving waarbij de logistiek ook de noodzakelijke maatschappelijke transities faciliteert. Hiertoe wordt het monodisciplinaire en regionale werkveld van CoE KennisDC Logistiek multidisciplinair en bovenregionaal verbreed (met aanpalende expertises van de LILS hogescholen, zoals ruimtelijke planning, mobiliteit, data, circulariteit en AI, gedrag, energie) en verdiept langs drie onderzoeksthema's met als doel zo min mogelijk negatieve impact te veroorzaken met het stedelijk logistiek systeem: • Oplossingen in schaarse ruimte strevend naar zero impact; • Inspelen op gedragsverandering bij inkopers, afnemers en consumenten; • Kansen door digitalisering. LILS wil meer impact maken met onderzoek en onderwijs, ook buiten de eigen regio’s. De samenwerking tussen BUas, HAN, HR en HvA creëert meer massa. De activiteiten van LILS worden vormgegeven langs vier pijlers: i) het ontwikkelen van een gezamenlijk onderzoeks- en innovatieprogramma in een roadmap; ii) het komen tot verdere integratie van verschillende kennisdomeinen op de onderzoekthema's; iii) het realiseren van verdieping waarbij wordt gewerkt aan een methodologische aanpak, verdere samenwerking tussen de hogescholen en partners in projecten en onderwijsvernieuwing (kennishub LILS); iv) het opzetten van een organizational excellence programma om de professionaliteit en kwaliteit van het onderzoek verder te verbeteren. Deze pijlers zijn de basis om gezamenlijk uitdagende, extern gefinancierde multidisciplinaire onderzoekstrajecten te initiëren en uit te voeren. LILS is al goed gepositioneerd in de regio’s waar innovaties in praktijk worden gebracht en heeft een goed nationaal en internationaal netwerk en bewezen onderzoekservaring.
