This paper relies on knowledge gained from ITRACT (Improving Transport and Accessibility through new Communication Technologies), an Interreg IVB project in the North Sea Region. We will show how digital innovation to promote mobility and accessibility in rural areas is limited by poor data infrastructure and a lack of digital engagement. It is argued that these limitations perpetuate the remoteness of these areas.
Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein focust met onderwijs en praktijkgericht onderzoek op het realiseren van transities met betrekking tot landbouw, voedsel, water, klimaat en leefomgeving. De klimaat-, biodiversiteit- en wateropgaven in Nederland hebben onvoldoende voortgang, omdat we vastzitten in het bestaande landbouwsysteem. De kosten die zijn gekoppeld aan transformatie naar een eigentijds, volhoudbaar landbouwsysteem worden onterecht bij de boer neergelegd. We komen hierdoor niet in transitie.
