Deze publicatie richt zich vooral op het concept Design Based Research,gezien vanuit het perspectief van de bijna 40 lectoren die de hogeschool rijk is. Dit lectoratenoverzicht kan worden beschouwd als een atlas of reisgids waarmee de lezer een route kan afleggen langs de verschillende lectoraten. De lectoraten die actief zijn op het gebied van de Service Economy worden beschreven in hoofdstuk 2. De lectoraten die actief zijn op het gebied van Vitale Regio worden beschreven in hoofdstuk 3. De lectoraten die actief zijn op het gebied van Smart Sustainable Industries worden beschreven in hoofdstuk 4. De lectoraten die actief zijn op het gebied van de hogeschoolbrede thema’s Design Based Education en Research worden beschreven in hoofdstuk 5. Tenslotte wordt er in hoofdstuk 6 een eerste aanzet gedaan om één of meer verbindende thema’s of werkwijzen te ontdekken in de aanpak van de verschillende lectoraten. Het is niet de bedoeling van deze publicatie om een definitief antwoord te geven op de vraag wat NHL Stenden precies bedoelt met het concept Design Based Research. Het doel van deze publicatie is wel om een indruk te krijgen van wat er allemaal gebeurt binnnen de lectoraten van NHL Stenden, en om nieuwsgierig te worden naar meer.

At the Teacher Education Institute of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, all student teachers have to do practitioner research as a part of their study programme. They are supervised in this process by teacher educators. The supervising teacher educators discuss the quality of student teacher practitioner research at several formal occasions. Some supervisors for example have recently been formally assessed as supervisors of student teacher practitioner research on the basis of an interview and a portfolio. In this portfolio they not only address their supervision skills but also reflect on the quality of student teacher practitioner research. Some supervisors also participate in a discussion group with colleagues of other Dutch Teacher Education Institutes with the intention to ascertain transcendental quality criteria. We will analyse opinions of our colleagues about the quality of student teacher practitioner research and thereby answer the following research questions: 1. What comprises ‘good’ student teacher practitioner research according to supervisors of research projects? 2. How do opinions about ‘good’ student teacher practitioner research of supervisors relate to their conceptions of the aims and nature of student teacher practitioner research?

Er wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen kennis over de huidige situatie, over wenselijke alternatieven en over effectieve oplossingen om daar te komen. Poster presented at EFYE 2018. Strengthening the wellbeing of students is an increasingly important approach of the development of students’ social, emotional and academic skills. Personal wellbeing motivates, among other things, students to learn and increases academic involvement and performance accordingly (Noble et al., 2008). According to the Centre for Education of Statistics and Evaluation (CESE, 2015) the educational welfare of students is also important for another reason; the recognition that teaching is not just about achieving academic performance, but also about the welfare of the student as a whole (intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral and spiritual). Recent studies indicate that more and more students suffer from (mental) health problems (LSvB 2013, 2017; Schaufeli et al., 2002). The aim of the Student Wellbeing Project at Inholland University of Applied Sciences is to 1) investigate the state of student wellbeing in Dutch higher education and investigate the factors that influence wellbeing, 2) explore and offer best practices to improve student wellbeing (curative and preventive) 3) establish a strong (international) partnership and collaborate to improve student wellbeing.

When teaching is considered as a collaborative activity, the aimof research projects in schools needs to exceed the individualand personal levels and aim to contribute to research-informedreflection of a team of teachers. Within this multiple case study, weadapted the graduation research project within a primary teachereducation programme, trying to bridge the personal level (wherestudent-teachers show their individual competence) and thecollaborative level (where the graduation research project aims toinspire practice of several teachers within a school). In this redesignof the graduation research project, the concepts of boundary activity,ownership, meaningfulness and dialogue were helpful. However,our study shows that connecting graduation research projects withschool development is not just a matter of redesigning a part of thecurriculum, but that it requires new perspectives and new qualities ofstudent-teachers, research supervisors from the university and actorswithin the school.

Most professionalisation programmes to support teacher educators as research supervisors focus on the development of research skills. The methodology of practice-oriented research, in addition to a clear vision on the function, and purpose of student research often receives little attention. At the Amsterdam University of Applied Science, we developed such a vision and methodology and studied the development of 17 teacher educators as research supervisors during a programme that introduced this methodology. We questioned participants about affect, and understanding regarding their role as a student research supervisor, and their perception of their competences to perform that role. Results showed that teacher educators became more aware of their role, and became more critical about their own competencies. Growing awareness of the implications of their role as student research supervisors seemed to result in a lower self-efficacy regarding the performance of this role. Implications for the training of teacher educators are discussed.

At the beginning of May 2020 all Inholland-students received an invitation to participate in a large international study on the corona crisis impact on student life and studies. This poster, presented by the Study Success Research Group, covers relevant results divided in four themes. These themes are student wellbeing, student engagement, satisfaction and the coronavirus. To determine student wellbeing we asked students about their feelings and contacts. Student engagement is phrased in time allocation and engagement. We also wanted to find out how satisfied students were with things like ICT facilities, quality of education and provision of information. Of course we asked students about (not) having corona and adhering to the measures.
