Greenport West-Holland en de EconomicBoard Zuid Holland werken samen aan de ontwikkeling en uitvoering van een human capitalagenda (HCA) voor de provincie en de Greenport. Hiervoor wordt in juni –juli 2019 een Human CapitalAkkoord gesloten met meerdere sectoren waaronder de Greenport. Onderdeel van het akkoord is een gezamenlijke investering in een eerste pilot (2019 –2022) met een focus op van Werk naar Werk. Greenport West-Holland heeft aan de hand van de bestaande HCA van de topsector tuinbouw & uitgangsmaterialen, Techniek pact, Groen pact, ambities van Glastuinbouw Nederland, AVAG, handel en de inbreng vanuit de mooie voorbeelden in de regio (de pareltjes), individuele ondernemers en gemeenten een samenhangend pakket van interventies uitgewerkt. Deze interventies sluiten voor een groot deel aan op de EBZ pilot doelstellingen (VET), maar niet allemaal. De interventies maken zoveel mogelijk gebruik van bestaande oplossingen (pareltjes) die versterkt en verbonden worden.

A broad agenda with societal urgency — From improving children's learning performances to delaying the onset of Alzheimer's disease. From productive employees to playing football to counteract radicalisation. From including the disabled to economic export product. Sport can make a positive contribution to dealing with social, cultural and healthcare issues more effectively and can stimulate both personal and economic growth. Two conditions must be satisfied if these contributions are to be realised in a structural, sustainable and successful manner. One: all parties involved must collaborate to realise the evidence-based added value of sport in practice. Two: politicians, industry, healthcare and health insurers must recognise that it is in everybody's interest that sport acquires this key role.

Expectations are high for digital technologies to address sustainability related challenges. While research into such applications and the twin transformation is growing rapidly, insights in the actual daily practices of digital sustainability within organizations is lacking. This is problematic as the contributions of digital tools to sustainability goals gain shape in organizational practices. To bridge this gap, we develop a theoretical perspective on digital sustainability practices based on practice theory, with an emphasis on the concept of sociomateriality. We argue that connecting meanings related to sustainability with digital technologies is essential to establish beneficial practices. Next, we contend that the meaning of sustainability is contextspecific, which calls for a local meaning making process. Based on our theoretical exploration we develop an empirical research agenda.

The debate on tourism in cities, both academically and in practice, has for a long time taken place in relative isolation from urban studies. Tourism is mostly addressed as an external agent and economic force that puts pressure on cities rather than as an interdependent part of city systems. The recent debate on city touristification and excessive dependence on the visitor economy, as well as the associated processes of exclusion, and displacement of local city users, serves to highlight how tourism is an integral part of urban developments. A wider urban perspective is needed to understand the processes underlying the tourism phenomena and more transdisciplinary perspectives are required to analyze the urban (tourism) practices. The current article seeks to contribute to such a perspective through a discussion of the literature on urban and tourism studies, and related fields such as gentrification, mobilities, and touristification. Based on this, theoretical reflections are provided regarding a more integral perspective to tourism and urban development in order to engage with a transversal urban tourism research agenda.

Deze agenda is een strategisch kader voor human capitalontwikkelingen in de creatieve industrie in de Metropoolregio Amsterdam voor de komende vier jaar (2012-2016). De agenda bestrijkt de gehele breedte van de creatieve industrie en richt zich op een interdisciplinaire aanpak en op het stimuleren van een onderzoekende en ondernemende cultuur in het onderwijs. Leidende thema’s zijn: • onderwijs over ondernemerschap;; • vraag en aanbod op elkaar afstemmen;; • alumni & permanente educatie;; • internationalisering. De Creatieve Industrie is de belangrijkste top sector voor de Metropoolregio Amsterdam (CBS monitor topsectoren 2012). Voor de beschrijving van de Creatieve Industrie in de Metropoolregio is een benadering vanuit drie clusters aangehouden: Kunsten & Cultureel Erfgoed, Media & Entertainment, Creatieve Zakelijke Diensten (reclame, mode vormgeving, architectuur). Het Kernteam Creatieve Industrie MRA wil een belangrijke bijdrage leveren aan de Europese en landelijke ambitie om Nederland in 2020 de meest creatieve economie van Europa te laten zijn. Dit vraagt om continue innovatie, slimme en creatieve oplossingen. Daarvoor is slim, creatief, jong (top)talent onmisbaar. Bij deze ambitie hoort een naadloze verbinding en samenwerking tussen bedrijfsleven en kennis- en onderwijsinstellingen. Het concurrerende klimaat, dynamiek en tempo in de sector vragen om snelle toepassing van nieuwe kennis en technologie en om een voortdurende instroom van nieuw (internationaal) creatief (top)talent en permanente bijscholing. Naast een economische waarde heeft de creatieve sector ook een maatschappelijk toegevoegde waarde. Met name de subsector Kunsten & Cultureel Erfgoed bevordert, met een vaak cross-sectorele aanpak, participatie en cohesie van diverse groepen in de samenleving. De toegevoegde waarde van de creatieve industrie wordt door andere sectoren nog onvoldoende op waarde geschat en benut. Voor professionals en aankomend talent is het cruciaal dat zij de juiste kennis en vaardigheden ontwikkelen om de meerwaarde en identiteit van de creatieve industrie over het voetlicht te brengen. De ondertekenaars van deze HCA hebben de intentie de ingezette samenwerking nog concreter vorm te geven. Het Centre of Expertise, Centrum voor Innovatief Vakmanschap en de Amsterdam Campus zijn hierbij dé vehikels om concrete afspraken en projecten tussen de drie partijen uit de gouden driehoek te realiseren. Prioriteit hierbij is de vraagarticulatie vanuit het bedrijfsleven verder aan te scherpen, afspraken hierover tussen partijen zijn reeds gemaakt. AIM wordt gevraagd twee per jaar een bijeenkomst te organiseren om concrete acties met elkaar te benoemen. Deze HCA, met bijbehorende ambitie en invulling, zal dan ook jaarlijks door het Kernteam geëvalueerd en zo nodig bijgesteld worden. Hierbij blijft afstemming met de MRA –agenda’s: HCA ICT en HCA Toerisme en Congressen gewenst.

Neoliberal discourse often conceptualizes nature in relation to its market utility and economic development. This article will address the role of metaphors in shaping neoliberal discourse in business education. The aim of this article is to reveal reasoning patterns about environmental problems and economic development in students of sustainable business minor. The case study described in this article involves business students at The Hague University in The Netherlands. This case study aimed to explore a shift in student understanding of environmental problems and economic development before and after the intervention. The results suggest that critical curriculum can inform students about the alternative conceptions as well as instruct them about potential solutions to the sustainability challenges. Our ageing population is the result of two demographic trends: decreasing fertility levels and higher life expectancy. As a corollary to these demographic trends, the working population is ageing and shrinking at the same time. This development will affect the performance of organizations in the next decades. As today‟s economy and the performance of organizations is mainly based on knowledge, the ageing workforce will mainly affect the organizations ability to be knowledge productive. As current knowledge management (KM) and intellectual capital (IC) literature hardly addresses the issue of ageing, the aim of this paper is to explore this topic in order to formulate an agenda for further KM/IC research. Combining the temporary consequences of ageing (brain drain and talent gap) and the false assumptions about the capabilities of older workers (older workers contribute negatively to a firm‟s performance), the current ageing of the working population reveals two main risks for organizations and management: underutilization of older employees, and loss of knowledge. Based on the exploration of these two risks in this paper, several issues are proposed for further research. These issues focus on the specific competences of the older knowledge worker, the implications for talent development programs, the benefits of inter-generational learning, and effectiveness of knowledge retention strategies. Today, the main fear is that large scale retirement will lead to a shortage of skills, talents, knowledge. Although acknowlegding the risks and threats of this brain drain, the current temporary ageing of our workforce might also contribute to a structural better valuation of the potential of the older knowledge worker and its specific contribution to the process of knowledge creation. In an ageing knowledge economy, increased understanding about the abilities and distinct qualities of older workers will provide opportunities for organizations to enhance knowledge productivity and thus gain competitiveness.

The Research Group for Governmental Communication has carried out a trend study of governmental communication within The Netherlands (1). Research topics were: the major tasks for communication, current issues, profiling the communication department, and policy plans for communication. Another study focused on quality control as a management function for the communication department (2). A tool was developed to measure the communication quality of governmental organisations. Looking back on the results of both studies we asked ourselves the question: How can the academic field pursue the research of communication practice in governmental organisations and then support this field with results? The article focuses on governmental communication in The Netherlands, but the results might also be interesting for researchers and communication experts in governmental communication in other countries. The author argues that the priorities in the research agenda within the field of governmental communication should include: monitoring methods, quality control and accountability.
