Continuing physical therapy at home can be stressful, challenging and unmotivating, especially for children. Researchers and students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht University, Eindhoven University of Technology, University of Twente and partners (Ijsfontein external link, Roessingh Rehabilitation Centre external link, Phillips Research external link) are researching how to design smart toys with self-adaptive play complexity to motivate children with cerebral palsy (CP) to continue hand therapy at home. The Magic Monster prototype was presented during the Dutch Design Week 2022 as a part of the Embassy of Health exhibition.

In dit boek wil de kenniskring van het lectoraat Groene Leefomgeving van Steden duidelijk maken dat de charette een zeer interessante verrijking is van het onderwijs aan Van Hall Larenstein. Studenten kunnen even snuffelen aan de beroepspraktijk waarin ze misschien later komen te werken. Docenten kunnen hun onderwijsmethoden aanscherpen aan diezelfde praktijk. Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein vindt via de charettes allerlei nieuwe samenwerkingsverbanden met nationale en internationale partners, en kan via de charettes laten zien hoe interessant en – zeker niet minder belangrijk – leuk het onderwijs kan zijn. De docenten en de organisatoren van deze charettes hopen dat dit boek een inspiratie mag zijn om nieuwe charettes te blijven organiseren.

The research group of the Lectoraat Groene Leefomgeving van Steden has published this book to show that charrettes represent a highly interesting new component of the teaching programme at Van Hall Larenstein. They enable students to get a first taste of the professional setting they might end up working in, and teachers to tailor their teaching to professional practice. The charrettes also enable Van Hall Larenstein to enter into numerous new collaborations with Dutch and international partners, and it also uses the charrettes to show how interesting learning can be and – at least as importantly – how much fun. The teachers and organisers of the charrettes hope that this book may inspire the development of many new charrettes.

This paper is about the conceptual framework of team flow and the action research project at the Hogeschool Utrecht (University of Applied Sciences) which has been launched recently. Have you ever linked the performance of The Rolling Stones - as a long - standing successful music business - to concepts of leadership and collaboration? By doing so, you can discover critical success factors for a new quality in collaboration, called team flow. The key elements of the team flow concept are: Authentic communication; Complementary qualities and habits; Shared leadership; Sharing a common passion; Synergetic identity. These elements find further ground in the U-Theory by Scharmer, the concept of team roles by Belbin, the shared leadership approach by Pearce, and others. You will probably have heard of the theory of Czíkszentmihályi, that people are most happy when they are in a state of flow a state of concentration or complete absorption with the activity at hand and the situation. The flow state is an optimal state of intrinsic motivation where the person is fully immersed in what he or she is doing (Czikszentmihalyi 1999). For collaboration, this means highly motivated persons co-creating a state of team flow through communicating authentically, sharing leadership and a common passion. Team flow is a concept for generative collaboration, a kind of collaboration focused on innovation and co-creativity. This concept promotes entrepreneurship and fundamental change.

Hoofdstuk 10 in HRM Heden en Morgen. Dit hoofdstuk is geschreven vanuit de overtuiging dat een gemeenschappelijke taal en begrip van people analytics, evenals enkele basale wetenschappelijke principes waarop het gestoeld is, het jonge vakgebied in de praktijk naar een hoger niveau kunnen tillen. En daarmee de (toekomstige) HRM-professionals werkzaam op en rondom dit uitdagende thema in staat kunnen stellen (nog meer) impact te maken in hun organisatie. Het primaire doel van dit hoofdstuk is om de (toekomstige) professional die dit leest, aan het denken te zetten. Dit kan betekenen inspireren, verwarren, of duiden.
