De partners in stadslab Narcis werken al enkele jaren samen aan oplossingen voor mismatches tussen vraag en aanbod op de arbeidsmarkt in een stedelijke regio in Nederland. Ze willen hun ervaringen en werkwijze heel graag van waarde laten zijn voor andere spelers op de arbeidsmarkt. In de pogingen om hun kennis te delen en met nieuwe partners hun werkwijze verder te brengen, stuiten ze op weerstand. Zelfs met een opdracht van verantwoordelijk bestuurders als stok achter de deur, loopt uitbreiding van de samenwerking regelmatig moeizaam. Door intervisie komt het stadslab tot het inzicht dat ze nieuwe partners overdonderen. Om dit te voorkomen is het belangrijk in het stadslab met iedere partner bij het begin te beginnen: samen een probleemverkenning doen, samen benoemen wat mogelijk oplossingen zijn. Pas dan wordt duidelijk of de aanpak van het stadslab van waarde is voor nieuwe partners.

From the publisher's site: "Trial design: Self-management plays a central role in diabetes management. However, not all patients are able to translate the health care providers’ recommendations for effective self-management in daily life. Diabetes Education and Self-management to Increase Empowerment (DESTINE) primarily investigates the effects of group education program Proactive Interdisciplinary Self-Management (PRISMA) in primary care treated people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) on the use of an online care platform. Methods: The DESTINE study has a randomized controlled design (1:1). 200 patients with T2DM using an online care platform called e-Vita will receive either PRISMA in addition to usual care or usual care only. The primary endpoint of this study is usage of the e-Vita platform. The secondary endpoints are participation in the consultation with the care provider, adherence to oral diabetes medications, and a selection of self-reported and clinical measures. After six months, both groups will receive PRISMA in a 6 month extension phase. Discussion: PRISMA focuses on aligning treatment goals from different health care providers while the individual patient remains in the lead. The goal is to shift patients from being an information receiver towards applying self-management and becoming empowered health care participants. Though recognized as important; theoretically based group education is still not routinely offered in the Netherlands. from the Article: "Operating rooms (ORs) more and more evolve into high-tech environments with increasing pressure on finances, logistics, and a not be neglected impact on patient safety. Safe and cost-effective implementation of technological equipment in ORs is notoriously difficult to manage, specifically as generic implementation activities omit as hospitals have implemented local policies for implementations of technological equipment. )e purpose of this study is to identify success factors for effective implementations of new technologies and technological equipment in ORs, based on a systematic literature review. We accessed ten databases and reviewed included articles. )e search resulted in 1592 titles for review, and finally 37 articles were included in this review. We distinguish influencing factors and resulting factors based on the outcomes of this research. Six main categories of influencing factors on successful implementations of medical equipment in ORs were identified: “processes and activities,” “staff,” “communication,” “project management,” “technology,” and “training.” We identified a seventh category “performance” referring to resulting factors during implementations. We argue that aligning the identified influencing factors during implementation impacts the success, adaptation, and safe use of new technological equipment in the OR and thus the outcome of an implementation. The identified categories in literature are considered to be a baseline, to identify factors as elements of a generic holistic implementation model or protocol for new technological equipment in ORs."

Studenten, docenten en lectoren publiceren samen met collega's uit de beroepspraktijk veel waardevolle content. Tot 2006 was er geen platform beschikbaar om deze stroom van kennisproducten landelijk te publiceren. Zowel binnen de hogescholen als voor het beroepenveld was het daardoor lastig om te profiteren van de met publiek geld gefinancierde kennisproducten, laat staan dat er op kon worden voortgebouwd. Als reactie hierop werd op initiatief van het Samenwerkingsverband Hogeschool Bibliotheken en SURFfoundation de HBO-Kennisbank gelanceerd. In dit artikel gaan we in op de meerwaarde van HBO Kennisbank voor bibliotheek, onderwijs en het beroepenveld; ook wordt aandacht besteed aan de architectuur en de laatste ontwikkelingen rondom HBO Kennisbank.

Robot tutors provide new opportunities for education. However, they also introduce moral challenges. This study reports a systematic literature re-view (N = 256) aimed at identifying the moral considerations related to ro-bots in education. While our findings suggest that robot tutors hold great potential for improving education, there are multiple values of both (special needs) children and teachers that are impacted (positively and negatively) by its introduction. Positive values related to robot tutors are: psychological welfare and happiness, efficiency, freedom from bias and usability. However, there are also concerns that robot tutors may negatively impact these same values. Other concerns relate to the values of friendship and attachment, human contact, deception and trust, privacy, security, safety and accountability. All these values relate to children and teachers. The moral values of other stakeholder groups, such as parents, are overlooked in the existing literature. The results suggest that, while there is a potential for ap-plying robot tutors in a morally justified way, there are imported stake-holder groups that need to be consulted to also take their moral values into consideration by implementing tutor robots in an educational setting. Technological developments have a major impact on how we live, work and learn together. Several authors refer to a fourth revolution in which robots and other intelligent systems take over an increasing number of the current (routine) tasks carried out by humans (Brynjolfsson & McAfee, 2014; Est et al., 2015; Ford, 2016; Helbing, 2014; Ross, 2017; Schwab, 2016). The relationship between man and machine will change fundamentally as a result. We are already noticing this shift, most specifically in the workplace. E.g., in the field of health care, digitalisation and robotisation can empower patients and their families. Hospitals are primarily intended for clients with complex care needs. This has consequences for the tasks carried out by nurses, who become more of a ‘care director’ or ‘research nurse’. Hospitals approach this in different ways, resulting in considerable diversity as to how these roles are fulfilled. These changes, albeit diverse, can also be seen in the roles of accountants, police officers and financial advisers at banks (Biemans, Sjoer, Brouwer and Potting, 2017). The traditional occupational profiles no longer exist and the essence of these professions is shifting. This does not make such occupations less attractive, but requires different qualities. The demand for more highly educated professionals who can carry out complex tasks in a creative and interdisciplinary manner will increase (McKinsey, 2017). Also, other social developments, such as migration and greenification, prompt us to ask new questions, resulting in new paths towards identifying solutions.
