In 2023 werd de handreiking 'Hulpverlening voor kinderen en jongeren met FASD' ontwikkeld door het lectoraat GGZ-Verpleegkunde, samen met de FASD Stichting, 's Heeren Loo en de FAS-poli in Zutphen. Ook jongvolwassenen met FASD, ouders en andere experts droegen bij aan de handreiking. Dit weblecture is een aanvulling op de handreiking. In het weblecture wordt besproken wat FASD inhoudt en welke elementen kunnen bijdragen aan passende hulpverlening voor kinderen en jongeren met FASD. Ten slotte gaan we in op de bestaande interventies die in Nederland al ingezet worden voor deze doelgroep.

The combination of (smart) technology, and our non-evolved psychological basic structure, brings our entire existence and the entire planet into imbalance. Humanity is estimated to have existed for about 300,000 years. One of the most striking features is a slow propagation speed (long gestation period and usually only 1 child per litter). In addition, and unlike the other great apes, humans have little or no body hair and relatively little muscle strength. This results in a relatively small natural biotope; it should be warm enough for the "naked" monkey and there should be little or no natural predators. This is exactly why the predecessors of Homo Sapiens invented technology, with three basic techniques: 1. language (religion, signal, drawing, writing, logic, math and code) 2. lever/mechanics (spear, hammer, wheel, pulley, pistons) and 3. fire/energy (and water & steam power, magnetism , electricity, atomic power). By combining the 3 basic techniques, we have been able to colonize the whole world.

On 16 September 2021 the Teacher Education Policy in Europe Network organized a webinar on career pathways for teachers. The reason for this theme was the need to explore how teachers can stay motivated in their profession during a longer time span. This motivation is key for retaining teachers in their profession, and key for learners in schools, as motivated and passionate teachers are better in supporting their learning.During the webinar, the focus was on the question how teacher career paths could support this long lasting motivation and wellbeing of teachers. As many countries are struggling with teacher shortage, the question how to retain teachers and how career opportunities can contribute to this, is of high importance.The webinar consisted of three parts. In the first part three keynote presenters explored the issue of teacher career paths from different angles. In the second part subgroups discussed issues and experiences and exchanged policy examples from different countries. In the third part, the outcomes of this exchange were collected and key issues for further exploration were identified, especially in relation to the role of teacher education.The summary ends with recommendations for different stakeholders.
