In dit magazine wordt verslag gedaan van onderzoeksprojecten binnen de thema's vakdidactiek, opleidingsdidactiek en Beroepsgerichte Didactiek / Leven Lang Ontwikkelen. Het themagebied Vakdidactiek richt zich op de didactiek van schoolvakken in het voortgezet onderwijs. Het themagebied Opleidingsdidactiek richt zich op de didactiek van het opleiden van studenten in de lerarenopleiding. Het themagebied Beroepsgerichte Didactiek en Leven Lang Ontwikkelen richt zich op de didactiek van het opleiden voor een beroep en op de didactiek voor het ondersteunen van leren in werk en loopbaan.

Op 6 december 2016 overleed Ed de Moor, eminent reken-wiskundedidacticus op de leeftijd van 83 jaar. Twee mensen die nauw met hem samengewerkt hebben blikken terug op zijn leven en werk. Marjolein Kool schreef samen met Ed de Moor de boeken Alledaags rekenen en Rekenen is leuker dan/als je denkt. Haar herinnering verscheen eerder in de nieuwsbrief van de NVvW. De tweede herinnering is van Willem Uittenbogaard, vriend en collega van Ed de Moor vanaf 1971.

In this chapter, we discuss the education of secondary school mathematics teachers in the Netherlands. There are different routes for qualifying as a secondary school mathematics teacher. These routes target different student teacher populations, ranging from those who have just graduated from high school to those who have already pursued a career outside education or working teachers who want to qualify for teaching in higher grades. After discussing the complex structure this leads to, we focus on the aspects that these different routes have in common. We point out typical characteristics of Dutch school mathematics and discuss the aims and challenges in teacher education that result from this. We give examples of different approaches used in Dutch teacher education, which we link to a particular model for designing vocational and professional learning environments.We end the chapter with a reflection on the current situation.
