In the last decade, organizations have re-engineered their business processes and started using standard software solutions. Integration of structured data in relational databases has improved documentation of business transactions and increased data quality. But almost 90% of the information cannot be integrated in relational data bases. This amount of ‘unstructured’ information is exploding within the Enterprise 2.0. The use of social media tools to enhance collaboration, creates corporate blogs, wikis, forums, and other types of unstructured information. Structured and unstructured information are records, meant and used as evidence for policies, decisions, products, actions and transactions. Most stakeholders are making increasing demands for the trustworthiness of records for accountability reasons. In this age of evolving social media use, organizational chains, inter-organizational data warehouses and cloud computing, it is crucial for the Enterprise 2.0. that its policies, decisions, products, actions and transactions can be reliably reconstructed in context. Digital Archiving is a necessity for the Enterprise 2.0.: the reconstruction of the past depends on records and their meta data. Blogs, wikis, forums, etc., used for collaboration within the business processes of the organization, need to be documented for reconstruction in the future. Digital Archiving is a combination of three mechanisms: enterprise records management, organizational memory and records auditing. These mechanisms ensure that a digitized organization as the Enterprise 2.0. has a documented understanding of its past. In that way, it improves organizational accountability.

Dit artikel beschrijft onderzoek naar de rol die Enterprise Architectuur kan hebben bij het verduurzamen van een organisatie van hoger onderwijs. Hierbij zijn de volgende producten opgeleverd: - Een overzicht van relevante literatuur met betrekking tot Enterprise Architectuur en Duurzaamheid. - Een overzicht van de rol die Enterprise Architectuur speelt in geselecteerde organisaties en instellingen voor Hoger Onderwijs. - Een validatie van de beschreven ‘best practices’. - Lesmateriaal over de rol van Enterprise Architectuur en Duurzaamheid. Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat de rol van Enterprise Architectuur bij het behalen van duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen op dit ogenblik nog gering is. Wel zien de geïnterviewde architecten en duurzaamheidscoördinatoren op termijn een grotere rol weggelegd voor Enterprise Architectuur.

This paper has the objective of finding a viable theoretical foundation for Enterprise Information Management (EIM) in World 2.0. The framework of the “Archive-as-Is” is an organization-oriented archival theory. The framework is a declarative model for understanding the archive “as is”, how it has been designed, constructed, processed, manipulated, and managed, and how it has “grown” to be the archive that the organization that generated it, wanted it to be. From the moment of their creation, archives are distortions of reality, only presenting biased images of the past due to the way organizations (and the people) “behave”. Contextualizing (by archivists) will be crucial to “correct” that distortion as much as is possible. The challenge in World 2.0 is to ensure that the organizational archive can be used as a “trusted” resource and be managed in such a way that an organization can survive the challenges of World 2.0. The theoretical framework of the “Archive-as-Is” may be the model that could be used to realize just that.--Spanish:Este trabajo tiene como objetivo encontrar una base teórica viable para la gestión de la información empresarial (EIM) en un Mundo 2.0. El entorno “Archive-as-Is” es una teoría archivística dirigida a la organización. Es un modelo para entender el archivo "tal cual", cómo se diseñó, construyó, procesó, manipuló y administró, y cómo "creció" para constituir el archivo que la organización que lo generó quería que fuera. Desde el momento de su creación, los archivos son distorsiones de la realidad, solo presentan imágenes sesgadas del pasado debido a la forma en que las organizaciones (y las personas) se "comportan". La contextualización (de los archiveros) será crucial para "corregir" la distorsión. El desafío es garantizar que el archivo se pueda utilizar como un recurso “confiable” y se administre de tal manera que una organización pueda sobrevivir a los desafíos de Mundo 2.0. El marco de actuación del "Archive-as-Is" podría utilizarse para conseguirlo.

In line with European sustainability goals, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Dutch automotive aftermarket face the challenge of maintaining competitiveness while transitioning to circular business models. These models, supported by EU policies such as the Circular Economy Action Plan and the European Green Deal, drive innovation in product lifecycle management, recycling, and sustainability. However, as SMEs adapt to these changes, they must also navigate the growing competition from imported Chinese electric vehicles (EVs), which bring both opportunities and risks. Logistics plays a critical role in this transition, as optimizing supply chains, enhancing resource efficiency, and minimizing waste are essential for achieving circularity. Will the Chinese car manufacturers move their value chain to Europe? Or will they further localize in aftersales businesses? Either scenario would affect a chain of SMEs in automotive aftermarket. Focusing on the auto parts SMEs in the Brainport region, this research examines how SMEs can stay competitive by leveraging logistics strategies to support circular practices, and navigate the challenges posed by the influx of Chinese EVs while remaining resilient and adaptable in the automotive aftermarket value chain. Together with our consortium partners, we help the regional SMEs in the automotive aftermarket with: 1. Mapping out logistical challenges and objectives, 2. Risk mitigation and demand planning, 3. Strategic supply chain development. Involving Fontys International Business graduation projects on data analysis, this project combines quantitative and qualitative insights to examine the transition of automotive aftermarket to an EV-dominated future. The SMEs in our consortium network are drive to adapt to the evolving landscape by investing in new measures. Through scenario assessment, we help them with scenario strategies in circular transition. For a broader impact, this project brings SMEs, branch and public organizations together and presents shared responsibilities in creating a resilient supply chain.
