Introduction: Writing Readiness Inventory Tool In Context (WRITIC) is an activity-based assessment tool to evaluate which kindergarten children are at risk of developing handwriting difficulties. WRITIC-assessment is valid, reliable, feasible, predictive, and norm-referenced. Broad international interest in translating WRITIC-assessment exists.Objectives: Making WRITIC available to professionals internationally to enable participation in handwriting at school. Methods: Composing translation teams with universities in different countries, back- and forth translation, cross-cultural assessment adaptation, carrying out feasibility and validation studies, starting courses for training the professionals.Results: Translation teams have been started in different countries resulting in an English, Portuguese and Slovenian translation, validation studies in Flanders, UK, Portugal and Slovenia and translation projects in Greece, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. A Figshare environment was developed to safely store, exchange the data and to support international research. An international digital platform has been constructed to sell e-manuals, share e-learning and support people worldwide.Conclusion: The translation and cross-cultural adaptation in different languages and the international digital platform made WRITIC-assessment accessible to children’s therapists around the world with the same results: enabling school participation of all children in contributing to inclusive education.

Nutrient profiling is defined as the science of categorising foods based on their nutrient composition. The Choices Programme is a nutrient profile system with criteria that determine whether foods are eligible to carry a ‘‘healthier option’’ stamp. The Daily Menu Method which has been developed to evaluate these criteria is described here. This methodsimulates the change in calculated nutrient intakes which would be the result of consumers changing their diets in favour of food products that comply with the criteria.

The impacts of tourism on destinations and the perceptions of local communities have been a major concern both for the industry and research in the past decades. However, tourism planning has been mainly focused on traditions that promote the increase of tourism without taking under consideration the wellbeing of both residents and visitors. To develop a more sustainable tourism model, the inclusion of local residents in tourism decision-making is vital. However, this is not always possible due to structural, economic and socio-cultural restrictions that residents face resulting to their disempowerment. This study aims to explore and interpret the formal processes around tourism decision-making and community empowerment in urban settings. The research proposes a comparative study of three urban destinations in Europe (The Hague in the Netherlands, San Sebastian in Spain and, Ioannina in Greece) that experience similar degree of tourism growth. The proposed study will use a design-based approach in order to understand tourism decision-making and what empowers or disempowers community participation within the destinations. Based on the findings of primary and secondary data, a community empowerment model will be applied in one the destinations as a pilot for resident engagement in tourism planning. The evaluation of the pilot will allow for an optimized model to be created with implications for tourism planning at a local level that can contribute to sustainable destinations that safeguard the interests of local residents and tourists.
The PANTOUR consortium builds on previous knowledge and tools produced by the Blueprint for Sectoral Skills project/NTG Alliance and will develop new tools and methodology to address strategic and sustainable approaches and cooperation between vocational education, training, higher education, enterprises of the tourism sector, looking to boost innovation in Europe (in tourism, leisure and hospitality).Societal IssueThe aim of this project is to map and bridge the existing skills gaps in Green, Social and Digital skills of workforce in tourism, leisure and hospitality.Benefit to societyMaking lifelong learning and mobility a reality, developing innovative learning solutions and promoting inclusiveness and access to education. Promoting active citizenship, building equal opportunities and addressing gender equality, diversity and inclusiveness in targeted actions.The consortium aims especially at designing innovative and cooperative solutions to address skills needs in the tourism ecosystem, with the development of outputs such as: the Sectoral Skills Intelligence Monitor, the Tourism Skills Lab, Resource Books for Trainers, the implementation of the National Skills Groups, a Skills Strategy Plan for 2026-2036, among others. With the exploitation of its outputs, PANTOUR seeks to benefit job seekers, unemployed and employed workers from the industry, employers, SMEs and micro entrepreneurs, dedicating a special attention in reskilling and upskilling the workforce on future skills needs in digital, green and social skills.The number of people benefiting from this proposal will be over 10 million that work across the tourism and leisure sector in Europe.The consortium is a multi-disciplinary partnership which comprises 13 European partners: Industry Partners and Tourism Sector Representatives, Universities and Transnational partners. Participatory sport events have been recently proposed as one of the strategies to promote physical activity participation, because of the “sport participation effect”.Active participation in sport events (and the training which participants complete prior to this event) can increase physical activity of both active and inactive individuals.
