Het doel van het dit onderzoek is om inzicht te krijgen in het gedrag van burgers in NoordNederland met betrekking tot het omgaan met ongebruikte medicijnen. Deze inzichten kunnen worden gebruikt om media-gedragsinterventies te ontwerpen die burgers stimuleren om ongebruikte medicijnen in te leveren bij een apotheek of de milieustraat. Het onderzoek is uitgevoerd door het lectoraat Transformational Media van NHL Stenden Hogeschool en maakt deel uit van het door SNN-gesubsidieerde project "Medicijnresten uit Water", een samenwerkingsproject van het Netwerk Medicijnresten uit water Noord-Nederland. Dit is een brede samenwerking van 20 partners uit de zorg-, water- en kennissector, geleid door het HANNN (Healthy Ageing Network Noord-Nederland), met als doelstelling om medicijnresten in het water te verminderen door een Mcross-sectorale samenwerking.

Medicijnresten die vanuit het binnenwater in de Waddenzee stromen, zijn niet zomaar verdwenen. Ze worden nog weken rondgepompt op het ritme van de getijden. Yannick Kalteren, student Kust- en zeemanagement van Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein onderzocht de uitstroom van zogenaamde opkomende stoffen van de Friese boezem naar de Waddenzee.

EuroSonic NoorderSlag (ESNS) actively engages with around 130 festivals across Europe as part of the ESNS Exchange program. As a leading partner in this initiative, ESNS aims to transition into a fully sustainable festival in the coming years. It recognizes its role in spearheading the sustainability aspect of the ESNS Exchange and the industry at large. However, the current lack of information regarding the industry's sustainability practices poses a challenge, leaving ESNS uncertain about the necessary steps to improve the market as a whole. The NHL Stenden Professorship Transformational Media, ESNS and the minor Music Management are collaborating on a joint project to address this issue. The project aims to assess the current state of sustainable practices in European Music Festivals and analyse how these festivals communicate their initiatives. Additionally, students in the Music minor program will create and test a prototype to encourage festivals to communicate about their sustainability activities.
