The book is about finance and accounting, subjects widely discussed in many other books. What sets this book apart from most others is that it discusses all the basic aspects of finance and accounting in one single textbook. Three areas of interest are discussed: Financial Management; Management Accounting; Financial Accounting. Typically, these three subjects are treated separately as individual topics. They are closely related, however, since they all deal with the many financial issues facing business organizations. All topics are discussed at an introductory level, which makes this book very useful for introductory courses on finance & accounting. Amateur Cities and Institute of Network Cultures are proud to present Feminist Finance Syllabus, a supplement to the Feminist Finance Zine titled Radical Care: Embracing Feminist Finance. It is a result of the Twitter conversations that took place during three launch events of the zine between April and May 2020.This syllabus is a starting point for diving into the field of feminist finance. It features scholarly concepts, grassroots projects, artistic thought-experiments, fictional responses, and questions without answers. The events from which we sourced the references and quotes featured in our syllabus are just snapshots of bigger discussions and are in no way exhaustive. Our discussions were influenced by the events of early 2020, the experience of living through the COVID-19 pandemic, and its socio-economic consequences. This perspective framed already existing feminist debates in a different way, adding new urgencies to particular struggles. We saw important lines of thought emerge in the discussion, and structured them into six topics: fundamental critiques, radical care, interdependence, units of account, alternative money design, forms of organizing.We would love to keep the conversation on feminist finance alive and this syllabus is an invitation to continue it. In de eerste helft van 2023 heeft het lectoraat Human Capital een onderzoek verricht onder jonge hbo-professionals die afgestudeerd zijn bij de Business en Finance opleidingen van Hogeschool Inholland. We kwamen erachter dat we daar eigenlijk weinig gestructureerde informatie over hebben. Recent systematisch onderzoek naar de attitudes en verwachtingen van jongeren ten opzichte van werk ontbreekt (Wilthagen, 2023). Dit onderzoek kan bijdragen aan meer inzicht hierover, en dan van een specifieke groep jongeren: hbo-professionals in het Business & Finance domein. De resultaten van dit onderzoek bieden inzichten aan werkgevers over wat jonge hbo-professionals beweegt en hoe ze hen aan hun organisatie kunnen binden. Het biedt ook inzicht aan onze studenten: wat kunnen zij verwachten bij hun eerste stappen op de arbeidsmarkt? En tenslotte kunnen we als Hogeschool Inholland de inzichten meenemen in onze curriculumontwikkeling. In een kwalitatief onderzoek zijn we ingegaan op vragen als: Wat komen jonge professionals tegen als ze landen op de arbeidsmarkt? Wat hebben ze, terugkijkend, gehad aan hun opleiding en wat hebben ze pas geleerd op de werkvloer? Wat vinden ze belangrijk aan hun werk en wat aan hun werkgevers? Welke verwachtingen hebben zij met betrekking tot hun loopbaan? En tenslotte, welke verschillen zijn er tussen de verschillende Business & Finance richtingen? Het onderzoek heeft verrassende inzichten opgeleverd, die we in deze publicatie beschrijven.

Since 2013, MoneyLab has explored questions around the design of money, the democratization of finance, and the new shifts in fintech. On 14 and 15 November, the 7th edition of MoneyLab was held in Amsterdam. At MoneyLab #7: Outside of Finance, we looked beyond the world of libertarian startups with their often masculine preoccupations. From hyperlocal cryptocurrencies at techno festivals to self-organized exchange systems in refugee communities, what are promising design strategies to counter the corporatization of money? Can we imagine a crypto economy that values care work and focuses on equity and solidarity?

Het thema ‘Onderzoek in het onderwijs en afstuderen’ is het belangrijkste speerpunt van het Kenniscentrum MFR (jaarplan kenniscentrum MFR/MTV 2010-2011). Om te komen tot normering van de kwaliteit van afstudeeronderzoek heeft een werkgroep zich gebogen over kwaliteitscriteria. Het resultaat is opgenomen in deze notitie. Besloten is uit te gaan van het beoordelingskader dat ontwikkeld is door Oost (2004) en dit aan te vullen met criteria die te maken hebben met het praktijkgerichte karakter van het onderzoek aan het HBO. De criteria bestaan uit twee onderdelen: ontvankelijkheidseisen te stellen aan het afstudeerwerkstuk en kwaliteitscriteria voor het afstudeerwerkstuk.
