Heb je wel eens een nieuwsbericht gelezen dat achteraf niet waar bleek te zijn? Niet vreemd, want fake news ofwel nepnieuws is soms bijna niet te onderscheiden van echt nieuws. En je ziet het steeds vaker op je tijdlijn voorbijkomen, want het neemt een steeds grotere plek in op sociale media. Wat is nepnieuws precies? En hoe wordt je mediawijs in tijden van fake news? Jos van Helvoort is tot juni 2022 werkzaam als hogeschooldocent bij de opleiding HBO-ICT van De Haagse Hogeschool en als onderzoeker bij het lectoraat Duurzame Talentontwikkeling. Als onderzoeker was hij vooral geïnteresseerd in de vraag hoe mensen media- en informatievaardigheden gebruiken om zich een leven lang te ontwikkelen.

Kun je toevallige voorbijgangers prikkelen om met elkaar over publieke vraagstukken te spreken - vraagstukken die het belang van het individu of de eigen groep overstijgen? Uit onderzoek blijkt dat hoe meer burgers betrokken zijn bij de vraagstukken die ons allemaal aangaan, hoe veerkrachtiger een samenleving is. Het is echter nog niet zo eenvoudig om hier ruimte voor te maken. Henriëtta Joosten en Flip Krabbendam vragen zich af het idee van ‘triangulation’ kan helpen. De opdracht werd ondersteund door het platform Connected Learning van De Haagse Hogeschool en uitgevoerd door zes studenten van de Faculteit IT&Design.

Higher education is making increasing demands on students’ learner-agency and self-directed learning. What exactly are learner agency and self-directed learning? Why are they important? And what does it take? The aim of the five questions and answers on this poster is to support a common language and to be used as conversation starters when you want to discuss learner-agency and self-directed learning.

This research evaluates how Project-Based Learning (PBL) is implemented in the Innovative Design program that is taught at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. This paper offers insights about the way students and teachers experience PBL within this program, and how the implementation can be improved according to previous research in this field. By studying relevant literature, a list of important (organizational and didactical) factors regarding the implementation of PBL is created. Questionnaires investigating these factors are then circulated among the teachers and students of the program. The results of the questionnaires are analyzed against guidelines provided in the literature. Based on this comparison, recommendations for the improvement of the PBL approach within the program are provided. The analysis shows that the program offers meaningful projects, and the students are properly prepared to collaborate. Nevertheless, the analysis also shows that the program still has room for improvement. The assessment methods are still unrefined, the students experience time-pressure while working on their projects, and the teachers can benefit from additional training to be better prepared for teaching in a PBL environment. In this project we take a look at the laws and regulations surrounding data collection using sensors in assistive technology and the literature on concerns of people about this technology. We also look into the Smart Teddy device and how it operates. Innovative development is a program that is given at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. This program teaches students to become more innovative. This article will look into the current approach and measure the growth in innovativeness of the students over the years. This was measured with a survey, based on the Berkeley innovation index. The results from the survey were calculated and scored based on eight factors. The innovative development program was compared with another program called information security management. These programs are from the same faculty. The information security management program did not show significant growth over the years in innovation. The innovative development program had resulted in a significant growth in innovativeness over the years. Chatbots zijn handige tools om klantencontacten efficiënt af te handelen. De inzet van chatbottechnologie roept wel ethische vragen op. Aan de hand van een krantenartikel over het callcenter van het onlinewarenhuis Wehkamp verkent filosoof en bedrijfskundige Henriëtta Joosten een aantal morele kwesties.
