Within PREMIUM_EU we have co-responsibility for developing the Regional Development Effects Module (RDEM). This module will map the impact of migration on regional development seen on different variables. To construct the RDEM we have to:1. develop a typology of regions, based on the impact that mobility has on its economic, social and cultural development; and2. detect the causal linkages between regional mobility on the one hand and regional development on the other.In our presentation we will focus on the process to determine relevant regional development indicators that will help in the collection and analysis of relevant data for the period 2010-2022 on NUTS 2 and 3 level. Partners in our project will additionally focus on:1. Analysis of regional networks estimated from Facebook2. Building typology regional development3. Longitudinal causal analysis of mobility4. Integration of case studiesFinally, this will result in:• Online atlas of mobility & development typologies• Report Causal Analysis of mobility development

http://dx.doi.org/10.14261/postit/EF4989E2-2F5F-4E6B-B91D7CFEBE91755DIn 2015 and 2016, Saxion University of Applied Sciences organized the 2nd and 3rd edition of the Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference (RIEC).This paper is debating the regional implications of Corporate Social Responsibility in three important global economic regions. After an introduction of the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, some characteristic of each region is presented. Also some good examples are given. In the conclusion it is emphasized that the application of Corporate Social Responsibility can advance both, the international position of Russian Businesses and the attractiveness for high talented experts.

Regional Energy Transition:

This report is a deliverable of the ESTRAC “Case Studies Regional Energy Transition” project, commissioned and funded by the research institute Energy Systems Transition Centre (ESTRAC). ESTRAC is a joint initiative of knowledge and research institutes in the Netherlands – including TNO, ECN (since April 2018 part of TNO), University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, the New Energy Coalition (NEC) and, more recently, PBL – as well as associated partners including Gasunie, Gasterra, EBN and NAM. In addition to funding from the ESTRAC partners, the Case Studies Regional Energy Transition project has benefitted from funding by the Green Deal program of the Dutch government.

Promoting genealogy and local history collections using social media in Uganda

Academic libraries collect process and preserve and provide access to unique collections insupport of teaching, learning and research. Digitisation of local history collections has beenundertaken as a way to preserving fragile materials and promoting access. On the other hadsocial networking tools provide new ways of providing access to various collections to awider audience. The purpose of the study was to explore how local history collections arepromoted using social media in Uganda. An environmental scan of cultural heritageinstitutions in Uganda with a social media initiative was conducted. A case study of HistoryIn Progress Uganda project is reported in the paper. The project is chosen based on the levelof activity and ability to provide different approaches and practices in using social mediaplatforms. Findings revealed varying levels of activity. Nevertheless, there still existchallenges of promoting access to local history collections. The paper offers insights into thenature and scope of activity in promoting local history collections in Uganda.

Practitioner's Corner: Episode 2

In this episode, I describe some activities on the history of geometry. Geogebra is first used to visualize a primary source from Descartes, and then to create the conchoide of Nicomedes. In the last part the so-called human conchoid is described, a form of embodied cognition to let your students get a grasp of the famous curve.

From “things of imitation” to “devices of differentiation”

This article argues for an updated theoretical framework in fashion studies. It proposes that perspectives emphasizing the social role and the technological nature of dress should be considered complementary, and that their joint application can contribute to new understandings of fashion history. Employing ethnographic methods, this stance is explored through a comparative analysis of the sartorial practices of two groups of women living or working in Amsterdam during the 1950s and the 2010s. A theoretical framework integrating theories of identity (mainly based on the writings of Georg Simmel and Gabriel Tarde) and the philosophy of technology (in this case the device paradigm of Albert Borgmann) allows us to uncover a paradoxical history of fashion in which clothing shifts roles, transforming from “things of imitation” into “devices of differentiation.”

Review ‘The World Hunt: An Environmental History of the Commodification of Animals’ by John F. Richards

The World Hunt: An Environmental History of the Commodification of Animals is written by John F. Richards, a ‘pioneer in environmental history’ as J. R. McNeill calls him in his introduction to the volume. This introduction explains how this unique yet not always easily accessible text exploring the environmental and socio-economic dimensions of commercial exploitation of non-humans came into being, and how it can be seen in the contexts of the history of human relationships to the environment and of contemporary ethics. The World Hunt is an unusual volume in that it blends environmental history, the dispassionate narrative of facts, with a voice that is at times full of hurt, as it expresses genuine concern for the voiceless victims of hunters’ increasingly global pursuits. Youth Work in the Netherlands. History and Future Direction.

Hoofdstuk in The history of youth work in Europe and its relevance for youth policy today. Youth work in the Netherlands goes back a long way and since the 1970s has taken on a rather strong professional image. During the last decades, it went through some hard times, but recently it has undergone a revival and revaluation. (Griensven & Smeets, 2003). The first section of this paper is about how the characteristics of the Dutch affect social work and youth work concepts. The second part discusses the Dutch framework for youth work: definition, fields of activities, core tasks and the ambiguous relationship between youth work and social work. The third section deals with the history of youth work. The paper concludes with a reflection on the future directions that youth work could take. The article is based on Dutch historical research, some by the author, and the author’s involvement in youth work, both as a youth worker and editor- in- chief of the semi-scientific journal Jeugd en samenleving.
