Professional Excellence in Meaningful Music in Healthcare (ProMiMiC) is het onderzoeksproject (2019-2023) naar persoonsgericht musiceren voor ziekenhuispatiënten en hun verpleegkundigen. In het onderzoek is de interprofessionele samenwerking tussen musici en verpleegkundigen onderzocht en is gekeken naar hoe persoonsgerichte (live) muziek kan worden ingezet als katalysator voor een compassievolle patiëntrelatie. Ook zijn modules voor onderwijs en professional development van musici en zorgprofessionals ontwikkeld. Het ProMiMiC consortium bestaat uit muziek- en ziekenhuiszorgpartners uit Groningen (met Hanzehogeschool als penvoerder), Den Haag, Wenen en Londen.

A growing body of evidence indicates that natural environments can positively influence people. This study investigated whether the use of motion nature projection in computed tomography (CT) imaging rooms is effective in mitigating psycho-physiological anxiety (vs. no intervention) using a quasirandomized experiment (N ¼ 97). Perceived anxiety and pleasantness of the room were measured using a questionnaire, and physiological arousal was measured using a patient monitor system. A mediation analysis showed that motion nature projection had a negative indirect effect on perceived anxietythrough a higher level of perceived pleasantness of the room. A linear-mixed-model showed that heart rate and diastolic blood pressure were lower when motion nature was projected. In conclusion, by creating a more pleasant imaging room through motion nature projection, hospitals can indirectly reduce patient's psycho-physiological anxiety (vs. no image projection) during a CT scan.

INLEIDING In deze module worden behandeladviezen gegeven voor de Post-COVID-19 ambulante behandeling in de geriatrische revalidatie gericht op somatische-, functionele- en psychische status. Deze module is een onderdeel van het behandeladvies post-COVID-19 (geriatrische) revalidatie-Verenso. Deze module is in een zeer korte tijd tot stand gekomen en heeft de status van groeidocument. Zorgvuldigheid is betracht om zowel de (beperkte) ervaringskennis, als de actuele stand van de wetenschappelijke literatuur hierin te betrekken. Voor dit behandeladvies is gebruik gemaakt van het door GRZPLUS ontwikkeld ambulant revalidatieprogramma CO FIT+. Bij GRZPLUS is een doorontwikkeling gemaakt op basis van de update behandeladvies post-COVID-19 geriatrische revalidatie van Verenso (Verenso, 19-05-2020) welke is gebaseerd op de principes van longrevalidatie zoals vertaald in het Behandelprogramma geriatrische COPD-revalidatie (van Damvan Isselt et al.) en het Behandelprogramma COVID-19 Post IC, van Revalidatiecentrum de Hoogstraat (Brouwers, de Graaf). Dit is aangevuld met behandeladviezen en leidraden vanuit de beroepsverenigingen en kennis uit wetenschappelijk onderzoek (long-revalidatie) en vanuit het REACH netwerk (REhabilitation After Critical illness and Hospital discharge). De komende maanden zullen zowel de nieuwe wetenschappelijke literatuur als de ervaringen uit de praktijk gebruikt worden om de handreiking te verbeteren en zo nodig aan te vullen. Dat zullen wij doen met specialisten ouderengeneeskunde, revalidatieartsen, klinisch-geriaters, paramedici, longartsen, verpleegkundigen, infectie deskundigen, en andere betrokken beroepsgroepen. De revalidatie van ambulante post-COVID-19 patiënten vereist vooral afstemming binnen de multidisciplinaire zorg. De complexiteit en ernst van de problematiek en de interactie van beperkingen op diverse domeinen maakt dat interdisciplinaire behandeling essentieel is.

Semi-structured in-depth interviews (n = 12) were held to explore older patients’ motives of whether or not toperform self-management while hospitalized and to identify factors influencing self-management during hospitalization. These interviews were analyzed using the Quacol method. Self-management during hospitalization is operationalized as: collaboration with the nursing staff, having a proactive role, and having control over personal care. Three main themes, i.e., patients’ abilities, expectations and opinions, as well as their perceived behavior of nurses were identified along with eight influencing factors. Results indicate that older inpatients perform selfmanagement when they know that it impacts their recovery, when they perceive that a mistake is impending, when their own personal limits are exceeded, or when they are invited to self-manage by nurses.This study provides several suggestions for developing interventions to support patients’ self-management during hospitalization.

Family caregivers of an older person who was recently hospitalized often feel unprepared for their new or expanded tasks. Quality and continuity of care for older people is expected to improve when nurses collaborate with family caregivers as partners in care. The aim of this study was to explore the unique contribution of collaboration between family these caregivers of older patients and hospital nurses as a possible predictor for preparedness of caregiving after hospital discharge. With a cross sectional design, a postal survey was sent to 777 family caregivers of home-dwelling hospitalized patients (≥70 years). Regression analyses were used to test the association between collaboration and preparedness for caregiving. In total, 506 (68%) family caregivers responded of whom 281 (38%) were eligible. Their mean (SD) age was 65 (13) and 71% were female. Family caregivers’ level of collaboration with nurses was significantly associated with their preparedness for caregiving.

Rationale: The Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is a validated instrument to assess and monitor malnutrition, which consists of both patient-reported and professional-reported items. A professional should be able to correctly interpret all items. Untrained professionals may experience difficulty in completing some items of the PG-SGA. We aimed to explore the change in perceived comprehensibility and difficulty of the Dutch PG-SGA by health care professionals on the use of the instrument, before and after training.Methods: A sample of 36 untrained health care professionals, of which 34 dietitians, completed a set of 29 items on a four point scale regarding comprehensibility and difficulty of the PG-SGA on two separate occasions: T0) two weeks before and T1) directly after an instructional session on the PG-SGA and training with the physical exam. Summarized comprehensibility indexes (SCI) and difficulty indexes (SDI) were calculated for the patient part of the PG-SGA (aka PG-SGA Short Form; PG-SGA SF), the professional part of the PG-SGA (PG-SGApro) and the full PG-SGA, to quantify the level of perceived comprehensibility and difficulty. SCI≥0.80 and SDI≥0.80 were considered acceptable, SCI≥0.90 and SDI≥0.90 were considered excellent.Results: SCI of the PG-SGA SF was acceptable both before (SCI: 0.80) and after training (SCI: 0.89). SCI of the PG-SGApro and full PG-SGA changed from unacceptable (SCI: 0.64; 0.69) to excellent (SCI: 0.95; 0.94). All SDIs changed from unacceptable (SDI for respectively PG-SGA SF, PG-SGApro and full PG-SGA: 0.71; 0.50; 0.57) to acceptable (SDI: 0.88; 0.85; 0.87).Conclusion: Training professionals in the use of the PG-SGA can be an effective strategy for improving the level of both comprehensibility and difficulty.
