The study of moral reasoning in relation to sustainable development is an emerging field within environmental education (EE) and education for sustainable development (ESD). The vignette method was used to evaluate the perception of the relationship between environmental and social issues in the Dutch upper elementary school children. This case study is placed within two broad areas of tension, namely between the need to address urgent environmental problems and to promote pluralistic democratic learning; and between the value of environment as an economic asset and deep ecology perspective. Binnen dit project wordt gekeken hoe ontwikkelingsorganisaties ondersteund kunnen worden om beter om te gaan met digitale transformatie.Doel In afstemming met mantelorganisaties actief in ontwikkelingssamenwerking wil dit project een antwoord te geven op de vraag hoe maatschappelijke organisaties digitale transformatie kunnen organiseren in de context van ontwikkelingssamenwerking met als doel om diverse Sustainable Development Goals te behalen. Resultaten Het project resulteert in ontwikkelde instrumenten en trainingsmateriaal voor de ontwikkelingssamenwerkingsorganisaties voor het omgaan met digital transformatie. Looptijd 01 september 2021 - 30 september 2023 Aanpak Dit onderzoek bouwt verder op de kennis van het lectoraat Procesinnovatie & Informatiesystemen en het project social media gebruik in ontwikkelingssamenwerking. Daarbij breidt de kennis uit op het vlak van maatschappelijke organisaties actief in ontwikkelingssamenwerking, waar de dynamiek van geografisch wijd verspreide stakeholders en verschillende niveaus van digitale ontwikkelingen van organisaties zowel vanuit de praktijk als vanuit een academisch perspectief een interessante onderzoekdimensie opleveren. De kernvraag van het onderzoek is: hoe managen maatschappelijke organisaties digitale transformatie door socio-technische systemen in de context van meervoudige waardecreatie in ontwikkelingssamenwerking?
The main aim of KiNESIS is to create a Knowledge Alliance among academia, NGOs, communities, local authorities, businesses to develop a program of multidisciplinary activities in shrinking areas with the aim of promoting and fostering ideas, projects, workforce, productivity and attractiveness. The problems affecting peripheral territories in rural or mountain areas of the interior regions, compared to small, medium or large population centres and large European capitals, are related to complex but clear phenomena: the emigration of young generations, abandonment and loneliness of elderly people, the loss of jobs, the deterioration of buildings and land, the closing of schools and related services, the disappearance of traditions and customs, the contraction of local governments, which in absence of adequate solutions can only generate worse conditions, leading to the abandonment of areas rich in history, culture and traditions. It is important that these communities - spread all over Europe - are not abandoned since they are rich in cultural traditions, which need to be preserved with a view to new developments, intended as "intelligent" rebirth and recovery.The focus of KiNESIS is to converge the interest of different stakeholders by recalling various skills around abandoned villages to make them "smart" and "attractive".Keeping in mind the triangular objectives of cooperation and innovation of research, higher education and business of the Knowledge Alliance action, the project aims are: i) revitalising depopulated areas by stimulating entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills; ii) creating local living laboratories, shared at European level, in which the exchange of knowledge, best practices, experiences can help promote social inclusion and entrepreneurial development;iii) experimenting new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches in teaching and learning; iv) facilitating the exchange, flow and co-creation of knowledge at a local and global level.
The change to sustainable energy and mobility in the Netherlands is faltering, in spite of numerous technological innovations and the clear economic benefits of such a transition. The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and four other universities in the Netherlands will therefore develop new methods and techniques to give the transition a major boost. They will work within the framework of NEON, a multidisciplinary research programme in which engineers cooperate closely with social scientists, NGOs and companies.
