Dit verkennend onderzoek, dat in opdracht van de provincie Utrecht werd uitgevoerd, richt zich op de pilot-residentie Ways to listen to a river van componist Nahuel Cano. Deze residentie werd geproduceerd door Residenties in Utrecht in opdracht van de Provincie Utrecht. Het doel van het verkennend onderzoek was het bevorderen van kennisontwikkeling rondom de waarde en impact van de pilot-residentie. Daarbij werden tijdens het onderzoek de principes van Arts Based Research (ABR) als theoretische lens ingezet. De deelnemers (beleidsmedewerkers en kunstenaars) van het onderzoek geven aan de principes van ABR in hun eigen werkwijze en/of in voor hen bekende artistieke praktijken te herkennen. In de beleidsontwikkeling rondom dergelijke artistieke trajecten lijkt een meer procesmatige, ‘bottom-up' benadering van belang. Daarbij kan het mogelijk helpen om per artistiek traject niet ouput-gestuurde, maar eerder proces-gestuurde afspraken te formuleren. Deze procesafspraken dienen vooraf en tijdens een traject, onder andere met behulp van aandachtspunten van ABR, gezamenlijk met de betrokkenen (bijvoorbeeld de kunstenaar(s), beleidsmedewerker(s), producent(en) en deelnemers) van een artistiek traject te worden geformuleerd.

Steeds meer organisaties voor jeugdhulp trainen hun medewerkers in oplossingsgericht werken. Maar het is niet eenvoudig om in de praktijk daadwerkelijk een oplossingsgerichte aanpak te hanteren. Het toepassen van de opgedane kennis en vaardigheden vraagt veel van professionals. Om oplossingsgericht werken op de lange termijn kwalitatief goed uit te voeren, is meer nodig dan training alleen. Borging van oplossingsgericht werken is noodzakelijk.

Background Single session email consultations in web-based parenting support may be used for a variety of reasons. Parents may be looking for information on developmental needs of children, for suggestions to improve their parenting skills, or for referrals to helpful resources. The way the practitioner meets the needs of parents, choosing a shortterm and text-based approach, has not been analyzed up till now. Objective To determine if and how practitioner response in single session email consultation matches the need of parents. Method A content analysis of single session email consultations (129 questions; 5,997 response sentences) was conducted. Three perspectives on the parent–practitioner communication were distinguished to assess the match between parenting questions and consultations, i.e., the expert oriented, parent oriented and context oriented perspective. Results The parent oriented type is the dominant paradigm in requesting and providing email consultations, with which the other types may be combined. Most consultations showed a mixed perspective with the use of a limited amount of techniques within each perspective. Correlations between the practitioner’s approach and parental expectancies were weak. Conclusions Professionals have a broad approach to email consultation, offering advice of different perspectives, rather than restricting the advice in order to match a prevalent parental need. All proposed textual techniques were observed in email consultations, providing evidence of their feasibility. Since practice of email consultations is relatively new, practitioners may benefit from the proposed systematic approach to writing email consultations, identifying parental need and permitting the use of professional techniques.

The importance of teaching engineering students innovation development is commonly clearly understood. It is essential to achieve products which are attractive and profitable in the market. To achieve this, an institute of engineering education has to provide students with needed knowledge, skills and attitudes including both technical and business orientation. This is important especially for SME’s. Traditionally, education of engineering provides students with basic understanding how to solve common technical problems. However companies need wider view to achieve new products. Universities of applied Sciences in Oulu and Eindhoven want to research what is the today’s educational situation for this aim, to find criteria to improve the content of the educational system, and to improve the educational system. Important stakeholders are teachers and students within the institute but also key-persons in companies. The research is realized by questionnaires and interviews from which a current situation can be found. The research will also include the opinion of management who give possibilities to change the curriculum. By this research more insight will be presented about how to re-design a current curriculum. The research will act as basis for this discussion in SEFI-conference about formulating a curriculum that includes elements for wide-ranging knowledge and skills to achieve innovations especially in SME’s.
