Het SaP-initiatief (Student as Partners) bij Inholland beoogt de relatie tussen studenten en docenten te versterken door partnerschap te stimuleren in het onderwijsproces. Dit houdt in dat studenten actief betrokken worden bij curriculumontwikkeling en andere onderwijs gerelateerde besluitvorming. Dit project heeft een methode en diverse instrumenten ontwikkeld, zoals de SaP-radar, om de dialoog te bevorderen en verbeteringen in het onderwijs aan te moedigen. Door middel van workshops zijn waardevolle inzichten verkregen, zoals het belang van gelijkwaardigheid, flexibiliteit, en open dialoog tussen studenten en docenten. De SaP-radar methode heeft ook onverwachte aspecten blootgelegd, zoals de discrepantie tussen verbale en non-verbale communicatie en de uitdagingen rond machtsbalans en afhankelijkheid. Het project benadrukt de noodzaak van continue evaluatie, feedback, en training om effectief partnerschap te bereiken.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) refers to a specific type of software used by companies to manage day-to-day business activities, including but not limited to accounting, procurement, project management, compliance and risk management, and supply chain operations. This chapter presents a literature review on the different perspectives and applications of ERP systems in the industrial sector in the last 20 years. As a result, most of the documented cases are related to the implementation of System Application and Product (SAP) and its different modules. A case study of the performance of CONTPAQi software in a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) that relies on the ABC tool for inventory control is included.

The indoor air quality (IAQ) in classrooms in higher education can influence in-class activities positively. In this context, the actual IAQ and students' perceived IAQ (PIAQ), perceived cognitive performance (PCP), and short-term academic performance (SAP) were examined in two identical classrooms during regular academic courses. During the lecture, key performance indicators (KPI) for the IAQ, i.e. carbon dioxide concentration, particulate matter 2.5, and total volatile organic compounds, were measured. After the lecture, responses of 163 students were collected with a validated self-composed questionnaire and a cognitive test, which covered topics discussed during the lecture. A significant association between the IAQ KPI and the PIAQ was found (p < .000). The PIAQ significantly predicted the PCP (p < .05) and the PCP significantly predicted the SAP score (p < .01). These results indicate that the IAQ in classrooms is associated with the PIAQ and PCP, and therefore is associated with students' SAP.

This importance is reflected in the fact that companies, without the force of any regulations, start to produce intellectual capital statements to communicate their performance; accounting guidelines are being developed and standards are being questioned and reviewed; software companies such as SAP, Hyperion, Oracle, or Peoplesoft are developing applications to address this, and even governments are beginning to measure the intellectual capital of cities, regions, and countries. Accenture writes that today's economy depends on the ability of companies to create, capture, and leverage intellectual capital faster than the competition. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young believes that intangibles are the key drivers for competitive advantage. KPMG states that most general business risks derive from intangibles and organizations therefore need to manage their intangibles very carefully. PricewaterhouseCoopers writes that in a globalized world, the intellectual capital in any organization becomes essential and its correct distribution at all organizational levels requires the best strategy integrated solutions, processes and technology. Even though the leading management consulting firms recognize the importance of intellectual capital – they seem to suffer from the same predicament as the field as a whole. Intellectual capital is defined differently and the concept is often fuzzy. In this special issue of the leading journal in the field we would like to bring together the definitions, approaches, and tools offered by the leading management consulting firms. Cities are constantly in transition. Spatial production worldwide is generated by governments, business, developers, informal settlers, et cetera; sometimes cities expand, but increasingly there is a process of reurbanisation of existing urban patterns contronted with deterioration, dysfunctionality, or obsolescence. In many situations, funding, power and technology determine how the course of urbanisation. Communities, groups and individuals with limited access to funding, power and technology need empowerment to exercise their right to shape and improve their own evironment, while respecting health, equity and ecology. The research centre for Smart Urban Redesign (SURD) at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences seeks to work on this empowerment for communities. This study presents SURD’s approach to neighbourhood revitalisation.

Het is algemeen bekend dat overheidsorganisaties en complexe IT-projecten niet goed samengaan. Er zijn talloze voorbeelden te noemen, met als triest dieptepunt het zg Speer-project, oftewel de al meer dan tien jaar durende implementatie van SAP bij Defensie.
