Repeat victimization has been widely studied from the perspective of environmental criminology for several decades. During this period, criminologists have identified a set of repeat victimization premises that are observed for many crimes; however, it is unknown whether these premises are also valid for cybercrime. In this study we rely on more than 9 million Zone-H data records from 2010 to 2017 to test whether these premises apply for the cybercrime of website defacement. We show that the phenomenon of repeat victimization is also observed in defaced cyber places (i.e. websites). In particular, we found that repeats contributed little to crime rates, that repeats occurred even several years after the original incident, that they were committed disproportionately by prolific offenders, and that few offenders returned to victimize previous targets. The results suggest that some traditional premises of repeat victimization may also be valid for understanding cybercrime events such as website defacement, implying that environmental criminology theories also constitute a useful framework for cybercrime analysis. The implications of these results in terms of criminological theory, cybercrime prevention, and the limitations derived from the use of Zone-H data are discussed.

In this study, we propose and test a chain of effects from website content, through informational and transactional success to overall website success and company performance. This framework enables us to determine the relative importance of the informational and transaction-related website functions for website success, and to show how website functions, through a number of intermediate performance measures, contribute to the financial performance of a company. The results are based on an empirical study of 380 companies across a wide range of industries. We find that both the informational and the transaction-related website functions have a significant positive impact on website success, but that the impact of the informational function is considerably larger. Our results show that firms can improve website performance through providing relevant website functions throughout the entire customer purchase process. An important result of our study concerns the mediating role of customer performance: customer performance in terms of e.g., customer satisfaction and retention, is a necessary condition for website success to result in financial performance. The chain of effects shows that firms profit from websites that are designed to meet customer needs and wants.

In addition, the navigation menu should have a maximum of three levels, and the website menu should be positioned on the left. Participants dislike the use of meaningless photographs because these do not add any value to the information given. CONCLUSIONS: Participants prefer a website that is as accessible as reading a book. Some differences are related to culture, such as the participants dislike for the use of English terms. Therefore, preferences or dislikes of items on a website could not be generalized as such. However, the preferences and dislikes may provide useful input for the design process of an appropriate website.

Op het jaarlijkse NVLF-congres van 6 november 2009 is de website www.taalexpert.nl gelanceerd. Sindsdien heeft de website een stijgend aantal bezoekers. In 2010 werd op het NVLF-congres een presentatie gegevenmet als titel Taalexpert: een jaar later. Daarnaast is op die dag het nieuwe project ‘logopedische aanpak van auditieve verwerkingsproblemen’ gekoppeld aan de website. In het eerste kwartaal van 2011 was het aantal bezoeken bijna 5000 per maand (zie figuur 1). De bezoekers zijn afkomstig uit heel Nederland. Daarnaast wordt de site structureel bezocht door professionals uit onder andere België en Duitsland. In dit artikel wordt beschreven hoe de website Taalexpert.nl tot stand is gekomen en welke informatie er voor de logopedist op de website te vinden is.
