Amateur Cities and the Institute of Network Cultures are proud to present a feminist finance zine titled ‘Radical Care: Embracing Feminist Finance’. It is a cooperative future-thinking effort from the MoneyLab network, a collective of artists, designers, researchers, geeks and activists dedicated to the task of experimenting with more equitable, diverse, and sustainable futures for finance and economy.The zine is a diverse collection of voices organized in three types of contributions: quickfire interviews (short reactions to big questions), double interviews (conversational long reads), and artworks (projects addressing discussed subjects visually).Today we live in a world that is dominated by an economic system that is global, competitive, and centred around a rational and egoistic vision of the human (homo economicus). In this publication we asked ourselves and over twenty contributors how we can embrace different values focusing on locality, cooperation, and caring. Can an affective and compassionate vision of the human get us closer to homo reciprocans or cooperans? How can we break out of the crisis of imagination, and as Lana Swartz and Martin Zeilinger propose, move towards the crisis of implementation? How we can navigate the relations of exchange and trust between humans and machines, but also, our relationship with the environment. Can we finally not only recognize the climate catastrophe, but also find ways to act against it, through an economic lens, mindful of not reproducing patriarchal and colonial histories? As Denise Thwaites notes, this work starts with careful and respectful listening to voices that have long been silenced. In the words of Ruth Catlow and Reijer Hendrikse: history is not over, we are just beginning!We hope this zine will inspire you and those around you to think about alternative ways in which we could organize our economies. Al bijna tien jaar onderzoekt Jacco van Uden de vraag wat organisaties kunnen leren van de kunsten. En na al die tijd weet hij nog steeds niet zeker of en hoe ‘de toegevoegde waarde van kunst voor organisaties’ iets anders kan zijn dan zomaar een uitbreiding van de managementtoolkit. Afkomstig uit de kunsten heeft Marjolijn Zwakman een vergelijkbare interesse in het verkennen van de relatie tussen kunst en organisatie. Samen ontwikkelden ze de workshop ‘Professionele ruimte op het spel’. In deze workshop onderzoeken de auteurs aan den lijve met de deelnemers welke principes uit de performancekunst kunnen verschijnen als een geïntegreerd, actief onderdeel van de organisatiepraktijk. Door deze samenwerking moeten zij de verborgen aannames in hun vakgebied onder ogen zien en aanpakken. In de vorm van een briefwisseling reflecteren zij in de deze bijdrage op hun ervaringen.

Blz. 159 In dit hoofdstuk bekijken we de betekenis van ‘de mens centraal’ bij de ontwikkeling van technologie voor gezondheidszorg en welzijnsbevordering. In de zorg- en welzijnssector zijn door de vergrijzing straks meer professionals nodig, maar deze zijn waarschijnlijk in onvoldoende mate beschikbaar vanwege budgettaire beperkingen en te weinig menskracht. Technologie kan hier een oplossing bieden door taken over te nemen of te vergemakkelijken.

‘De mens centraal’, wat betekent dat daadwerkelijk voor studeren en voor werken in de zorg-, sport- en welzijnssector? Je kunt er immers niet op tegen zijn. Is het vooral een nieuwe beleidskreet? Betekent het ‘ieder voor zich’? De opleidingen en onderzoekslijnen van Inholland werken vanuit een holistische mensvisie. Dat biedt een kader, maar blijkt ook behoorlijk veel interpretaties te hebben. De bundel ‘De mens centraal, geen probleem?’ gaat daarover.

There is an urgency and need to develop an innovative strategic approach for organizations to develop a sustainable organization for the future, in which they are able to respond resiliently to major environmental challenges and changes in the short term and adjust the management of the organization. On the same time, in this strategic approach learning and transforming accordingly in the long term is involved as well. This approach will give organizations the opportunity to operationalize their boards’ and stakeholders’ ambitions to build a responsible business, with focus on governance elements, as well as interaction with social and environmental factors, risk, and strategy from a holistic view. In education, students could work with this approach in future projects for real companies.
