Peter van der Aalst

Peter van der Aalst (1967) is manager. lecturer and professional doctorate candidate at Academy for Leisure & Events at Breda University of Applied Sciences. The topic of his professional doctorate is utilizing street culture & sports to develop attractive and resilient cities for its inhabitants and visitors.

Next to his position at BUas Peter is a member of the board of Blind Walls Gallery & Graphic Matters, chair of the supervisory board of Heaviness/Roadburn Festival, chair of the board of MASS production and member of the advisory committee of the ASML x Brabant C Fund. Via his own company ‘Grote Woorden’ Peter writes business plans & large subsidy applications for the (popular) cultural sector and coaches cultural entrepreneurs in developing their business (i.e. 013 Popvenue Tilburg, WOOHAH! Festival, Kovacs, Roadburn Festival, Dutch Breaking League). In the past he was a marketing manager at Effenaar Popvenue Eindhoven, manager of innovations at Vrijetijdshuis Brabant and lecturing and researching topics like creative industries, creative clusters and cultural and creative policies.
