Attack surfaces are increasing as products are increasingly more connected. This has been acknowledged by the European Commission in their Europe: fit for the digital age strategy and in recent legislative proposals. Most importantly, the proposed Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) sets minimum cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements. These requirements range from effective and regular tests to the dissemination of free security updates in case of a cybersecurity breach. This should ensure a base level of cybersecurity throughout the product’s lifetime. Unfortunately, there is a catch: not all products with digital elements fall within the scope of the proposed CRA. For instance, vehicles are not subject to the proposed Act. The exclusion of this category of products with digital elements seems to be based on the premise that ‘the sectoral rules achieve the same level of protection as the one provided for by this Regulation’ (recital 14). This contribution is challenging this premise, as it explores the level of cybersecurity as laid down in the proposed CRA and compares it to the level of cybersecurity ensured by the sectoral rules in vehicle regulation. Eén van de doelen van deze set van vragenlijsten is dus om zicht te krijgen op de ondersteuningsbehoefte van mantelzorgers. Met de lijsten kan ook dreigende overbelasting gesignaleerd worden. . Deze overbelasting kan ook ontstaan doordat anderen in het netwerk afhaken gezien de complexiteit van de problematiek. Als de lijsten zowel aan het begin van een begeleidingstraject afgenomen worden als in de loop of aan het einde van het traject kunnen veranderingen zichtbaar gemaakt worden.. Op deze wijze kan onderzocht worden of de ondersteuning van NAH consulenten of andere hulpverleners een positief effect heeft gehad

Steeds meer mode- en textielontwerpers willen bijdragen aan de transitie naar een circulair mode- en textielsysteem, maar bezitten vaak niet de juiste kennis en/of hebben onvoldoende ervaring met maak- of ontwerpmethoden die gericht zijn op circulariteit. Daarnaast wordt er in de mode- en textielsector vaak uitgegaan van een beperkte definitie van circulariteit. Waar circulariteit in deze sector doorgaans gaat over de 9-R methodiek (reuse, repair, recycling, etc.), zetten we in dit project artistiek en ontwerpend onderzoek in om circulariteit vanuit een holistisch perspectief te benaderen met speciale aandacht voor de sociaal-culturele, esthetische en systemische facetten van circulariteit. Op vele plekken in de keten is er sprake van onzichtbaar arbeid, en er is steeds meer vraag naar een sterker begrip (transparantie) van het mode- en textielsysteem en de verschillende actoren daarbinnen. De intransparantie en onzichtbaarheid van diverse actoren in het mode- en textielsysteem staat de transitie naar een circulair modesysteem, met minder vervuilende maak-en consumptie praktijken, in de weg. In dit project werken ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten en State of Fashion als geassocieerde BIS-instelling nauw samen met Avans Hogeschool en de Crafts Council Nederland. Gezamenlijk onderzoeken wij – door middel van artistiek en ontwerpend onderzoek – hoe het zichtbaar maken van “onzichtbaar arbeid” in het mode- en textielsysteem kan leiden tot nieuwe, circulaire maak- en ontwerppraktijken.
In this proposal, a consortium of knowledge institutes (wo, hbo) and industry aims to carry out the chemical re/upcycling of polyamides and polyurethanes by means of an ammonolysis, a depolymerisation reaction using ammonia (NH3). The products obtained are then purified from impurities and by-products, and in the case of polyurethanes, the amines obtained are reused for resynthesis of the polymer. In the depolymerisation of polyamides, the purified amides are converted to the corresponding amines by (in situ) hydrogenation or a Hofmann rearrangement, thereby forming new sources of amine. Alternatively, the amides are hydrolysed toward the corresponding carboxylic acids and reused in the repolymerisation towards polyamides. The above cycles are particularly suitable for end-of-life plastic streams from sorting installations that are not suitable for mechanical/chemical recycling. Any loss of material is compensated for by synthesis of amines from (mixtures of) end-of-life plastics and biomass (organic waste streams) and from end-of-life polyesters (ammonolysis). The ammonia required for depolymerisation can be synthesised from green hydrogen (Haber-Bosch process).By closing carbon cycles (high carbon efficiency) and supplementing the amines needed for the chain from biomass and end-of-life plastics, a significant CO2 saving is achieved as well as reduction in material input and waste. The research will focus on a number of specific industrially relevant cases/chains and will result in economically, ecologically (including safety) and socially acceptable routes for recycling polyamides and polyurethanes. Commercialisation of the results obtained are foreseen by the companies involved (a.o. Teijin and Covestro). Furthermore, as our project will result in a wide variety of new and drop-in (di)amines from sustainable sources, it will increase the attractiveness to use these sustainable monomers for currently prepared and new polyamides and polyurethanes. Also other market applications (pharma, fine chemicals, coatings, electronics, etc.) are foreseen for the sustainable amines synthesized within our proposition.
Students in Higher Music Education (HME) are not facilitated to develop both their artistic and academic musical competences. Conservatoires (professional education, or ‘HBO’) traditionally foster the development of musical craftsmanship, while university musicology departments (academic education, or ‘WO’) promote broader perspectives on music’s place in society. All the while, music professionals are increasingly required to combine musical and scholarly knowledge. Indeed, musicianship is more than performance, and musicology more than reflection—a robust musical practice requires people who are versed in both domains. It’s time our education mirrors this blended profession. This proposal entails collaborative projects between a conservatory and a university in two cities where musical performance and musicology equally thrive: Amsterdam (Conservatory and University of Amsterdam) and Utrecht (HKU Utrechts Conservatorium and Utrecht University). Each project will pilot a joint program of study, combining existing modules with newly developed ones. The feasibility of joint degrees will be explored: a combined bachelor’s degree in Amsterdam; and a combined master’s degree in Utrecht. The full innovation process will be translated to a transferable infrastructural model. For 125 students it will fuse praxis-based musical knowledge and skills, practice-led research and academic training. Beyond this, the partners will also use the Comenius funds as a springboard for collaboration between the two cities to enrich their respective BA and MA programs. In the end, the programme will diversify the educational possibilities for students of music in the Netherlands, and thereby increase their professional opportunities in today’s job market.
